Hi all! Have any of you ever shopped at Steve & Barry's? They are having a sale: everything under $9.00. Do they sell kid's clothes too or just adults?
I think we may need to make a trip for some back to school shopping!
Thanks in advance.

They sell from infants on up. there reg price is 8.98$ so its not really a "sale" its their everday price :)

We love Steve & Barry's! They have clothes for adults and kids. My boys love the Starbury basketball sneakers, for under $9 a pair, I don't care what they do to them! Actually, they are pretty nice looking and well made. DH has had good luck in there with shorts, sweatshirts, tshirts, that kind of thing. Definitely casual clothing. Lots of college stuff too.

i found the clothes to be cheap. they fall apart.
i never bought for myself.. only my 5 year old.

My DS (24) shops at the one in Potomac Mills in Woodbridge, VA. He can usually find khaki slacks or a pro team t-shirt. He doesn't buy all his clothes there, but can usually find one or two things. Sarah Jessica Parker has launched a clothing line through them. She wanted a place that everyone could affod. She came from very low income background.

I'm actually running up to mine right now they have infant sleepers on sale for 3/15$. On black friday they had alot of stuff marked down to 2.89$ those are my kinds of prices... I am cheap.

My son loves this store and I love the prices. The gym shoes are just as good quality of more expensive shoes and they look decent as well.

HTH

I bought my DS7 a pair of pants and a Marvel t-shirt. Both have stood up well to multiple washings.

Thanks for all of the information everyone! I was going to buy stuff from Kohl's but even then the prices were a bit much for me right now. I just have a hard time paying for clothes our kiddo will either grow out of or rip in a month or two. Boys play so hard!

I read alot about the SJP clothes. I watched an interview with her and I really admire her for taking that stance. It is scary sometimes how much clothes, especially anything trendy, costs!

I think we might have to go up to Phoenix. :yay: Which means a trip to ikea too! Color me happy!

I have shopped there a few times. Just watch sizes. Some items are cut very small. Also not all size large of same item will be the same cut. This is just an example. Pants are not cut the same either. Some good deals can be found especially for little ones that grow out of everything so fast. There is one in a mall not 2 miles from my house and like I said I have shopped only a few times. I found it not worth the headache.

Mine is like a mile away... I haven't bought much there either. Some of the stuff I dont find to be "good" deals. I went tonight for the baby sleepers 3/$15 like I said and they had PLAIN tank tops for boys for 8.98$ a piece... who pays 9$ for a little toddler boys tank top?? :confused3 Also walking thru the store I saw some womens/ladies/juniors (I dont know the difference between any of those) on sale for 2/15$ they were cute (too bad I'm in maternity clothes which they dont have!)

The quality is poor. I bought a pair of Starbury's for my every growing son (thinking to save money). In one week the entire sole was worn down to the seam of the shoe.

I love the sneakers - my son got some basketball sneakers from there and it is nice that he can be stylish and I can keep to a budget. I also bought a pair of sneakers for me that are wearing well.

Wow, I have some of the Bitten clothes from last summer that I wear weekly and they are in perfect condition. Matter of fact, I have the bermuda shorts on right now!

I recently bought some solid polos, the S&B house brand, have washed them at least 15x since May (I wear them often...) and they look brand new.

I also have 2 pair of sunglasses (Bitten and Amanda Bynes) from last summer - been to WDW, a cruise, camp twice, and thrown in my purse on a daily basis and they are both still together. My Target pair broke already?

Perhaps it depends on the piece - everything we've bought has been fantastic quality at a great price. I love buying summer stuff there.

DH has some cargo shorts he bought a few months ago - wears them every weekend and they look fine.

(I have never bought shoes there)

EDITED TO ADD: No, sorry, the Amanda Bynes shades were bought in May, the Bitten ones are over a year old.

I have a very active, athletic 13yo son. He's a basketball player - plays on a travel team. He wears the Starbury's for casual shoes. They do wear faster and have less support than say Nike or Addidas basketball shoes. That said, he loves the Big Bens! My husband buys some of their jeans for work pants. He says they last a shorter time than $60 carharts but for $8, he'll keep buying the Steve and Barry brand. I have found the men's tee shirts to wear well and they have great little sayings on them. Also the college athletic team apparel is good. Many of the athletic shorts do not have pockets, the Starbury's do and they wear well. I bought myself a Bitten purse last year, used it all summer and got it out again this summer. It's still in good shape. I hope the bancruptcy doesn't close the stores.

I have bought a few things there and so far am impressed. My husband likes the jeans, especially for the price. I bought him 2 pair last September and they have been worn at least one time a week and so far are holding up. No problems yet. You do have to watch though. I did notice some pretty cheap quality children's shirts for $8.98. That was definitely way to high. Just look around and try the clothes on before you leave or you might have to make a return trip. Good luck!

I saw SJP on Oprah when she launched her line. I was so excited about it I drive an hour to the closest Stave & Barry's to me. The stuff was junk. I was shocked that SJP would put her name on clothing. She keopt talking about the quality. There was no quality in those clothes. It didn't look like it would hold up at all and there is no way I would ever wear that kind of junk. She sold out!

I really like he Bitten line. I've bought a few tee shirts and pants and they've been holding up remarkably well. For my wardrobe staples I'll go someplace else and pay more for a better quality, but for casual trendy stuff it's perfect. Those kind of things I'll usually only wear for a season or two anyways before it falls out of style so why pay lots of money for it.

The stuff does run a bit small so be prepared to size up a bit
