Obnoxious pet peeves about stereotyping:
*So you dress preppy, you shop in Abercrombie, you must be one of those preppy teenagers. 25 dollars for a t shirt? How could you? Did daddy pay for that cell phone, that Fendi bag?*
My response: NO!! I dress how I dress to look good, to look cute. Maybe your idea of cute and sexy is different than mine, but I'll spend MY OWN MONEY on my clothes and I'll pay whatever I want for them. Oh yeah, and I bought this bag with my own money, I have a job, and I pay for my own cell phone bill! Just because my family has money doesn't mean they spoil me, in fact, they do the opposite, sometimes too much! And just because I dress nice or "preppy" doesn't mean I'm jappy or snobby and that I ignore anyone who doesn't dress like me! Grrr...I'm friends with everyone.
*Oh, so you're from New York? Are you scared in the city that you'll get shot? New Yorkers are so rude!
My response: No, I'm not afraid that I'll get shot. First thing, there is more to life in NY than the city, though it is awesome. NYC is actually an amazingly safe city for such a large city. Oh, and btw, New Yorkers aren't rude, we just keep to ourselves alot more than other places. Thats the way of life here, good or bad, it's just different. Yes, we move quickly, and I wouldn't want it any other way!
