If you have a steam mop, what brand is it and do you like it? I saw the infomercial for the Shark Steam Mop and I was impressed, but wondering what other brands are out there. I currently use a Hoover Floormate and I don't like it. TIA.

ETA I have about 700 sq ft of Pergo Flooring, the bathrooms are vinyl flooring and our kitchen is tile.

Both my kitchen and bathroom are tile floor. I've had the Shark steam mop for about a year and it works really well for me.

I have ceramic tile in my kitchen, dining area, bathrooms, and foyer. I absolutely LOVE my Shark. It has been a great purchase for me!!

I have been on the fence about spending money on the shark. But I have heard good things on it.

For those who clean their tile floors with a steamer, does it work well on the grout?

After reading a BUNCH of reviews I advised my mom to get the Bissell over the Shark because the Bissell's head swivels and the Shark's does not.

I just borrowed her Bissell to try out. I've heard all the steam vacs leave a lot of water and this one does too. Be prepared to use a towel behind otherwise you'll be waiting hours for the floor to dry and it will be slippery.
My kitchen is white tile.....not my pick as we bought the house that way....the grout is always dirty. While the steam mop works great on the tile (no scrubbing involved) it did nothing for the grout. Maybe if you're grout is already clean the mop will help maintain it better but it doesn't clean it like the tv commercials show. My husband WILL NOT let me use it on the wood floors because of all the water left behind.

Just my opinions.

I love my Shark and it doesn't leave very much moisture behind at all. As for the grout, it works pretty well for me. I do have dirt colored grout though:lmao:

I have a Shark steam mop and I love it! I have vinyl floors in my kitchen, bathrooms and laundry. I have laminate flooring in my dining room and entry. The steam mop does an excellent job on both. It leaves very little moisture on the floor. I walk around in my sock feet behind the mop and my socks don't get wet. The mop is So easy to use that I actually mop more often now.

Just my 2 cents.

BTW, I bought mine at Kohl's when it was on sale while they had an extra 15% off with the Kohl's charge and I had some Kohl's bucks. So if you really want one, wait till they have a good sale.

I bought a HAAN steam mop thru QVC. It arrived last week and although I've used it only once so far I like it. It came with 2 micro Fiber pads and was less than $100 with tax and shipping. The pads grip onto the bottom of the mop so there you don't have to pull them on to fit. There is a row of steam vents along the bottom so steam doesn't just shoot out from one hole. The steam stays on so you don't have to do anything but mop. I did find it a bit hard to push around at first but as the pad wore in it got easier. I have original hard wood in my kitchen (older home) and ceramic in the laundry. I didn't have a problem with excessive wettness at all. Dried immediately. It doesn't cover a lot of area though. I have a small kitchen with attached laundry. Maybe a 12x16 area. Refilled it once. After I was done, I rinsed out the pad as it wasn't that dirty. I bought it to take the place of wet mopping, but I feel that I will used this more often, and wet mop occasionally with a disinfectant. You don't get that "clean smell" so you have to de-program yourself over that! So far so good.

I have a Bissell and I love it! I use it on my ceramic tile, my linoleum, and my laminate. No issues whatsoever!

We bought the Lysol steam mop a couple of months ago and I love it. Really simple to use, not too fancy and only cost $40. We use it on hardwood, vinyl, and durastone (cross between ceramic and vinyl). :thumbsup2

I bought the Shark at Bed Bath & Beyond. Use a 20% coupon on the deluxe model and you get extra pads plus a longer extension cord for the same price as the standard at Walmart. It came out cheaper than what I priced it out with discounts at Kohl's, too.

It does not leave much moisture at all. Not making fun of the Bissel, but I, frankly, do NOT want a swivel head.

Big tip: Run a stick vac or swiffer over your floor prior to using it. It will push all the hair/dust over along the edge by your baseboard if you don't do this well.

You can use it on sealed hardwood floors. That's what we have in the kitchen, hall and entry on the first floor and it really does a good job. Great on the hairspray that accumulates on your bathroom floor, too.

I ended up getting this one from overstock.com I read some great reviews on Amazon. It lists for $119 on Amazon. it was $85 on Overstock plus s/h was only $1.

Love my Shark. I use it on ceramic tile and it does not leave much moisture. By the time I get to the end of the room, the beginning is dry. It doesn't do anything for the grout, but neither did my mop and water. I have to scrub my grout with comet once a year to keep it white. My only complaint with the shark is the length of the cord. Definitly not long enough.

I have been looking at all the H2O Mops and have been trying to decide if I should spend my money too. And if I do, which one.

I have a leaf pattern in my tile, so it has grooves in it, will it loosen the dirt that builds up in these grooves? I usually end up getting down on my hands and knees scrubbing the kitchen floor with a scrub brush. But I will so spend the money if I knew that I wouldn't ever have to scrub the floor with a scrub brush again.
:confused3

Yes....and I got the deluxe because the cord was longer.

We have a lot of hardwood floors, and we use our Bissell on them. Works great.

i borrowed my mom's bissel b/c mine isn't here yet. OMG. I will never clean my floors any other way. i hope mine works as great as hers. The Bissel even got sticky dried on food out of the grout lines! Wow!
