Fiveforall..... Roll Tide You don't need a Steakn shake you have Dreamland. I miss living in Tuscaloosa.

LOL We eat at Dreamland maybe once a year. We actually eat at the SnS in Franklin, TN way more than we make it to Dreamland!

What is Dreamland?

Dreamland ribs......ribs, bread, and sauce, nothing else. It's a Tuscaloosa tradition to eat ribs before or after Alabama football games. I think there are a few franchises in other Alabama cities, but Tuscaloosa has the original. It's in an old shack in a bad part of town, but believe me, in Alabama, it's famous.

We hit the SNS in Franklin also. We are getting our own Dreamland soon. I think it will open in Sept. It was suppose to in July. It will take about 5 years for the grease to build up on the grill for the ribs to get good. Hope to make it down for a game this year really looking forward to this season.

We have had SNS in Springfield for like 70 years and we all love it.

My all time favorite is Chili Mac (spaghetti covered with chili meat). Way too good. DH loves burgers.

We just went to state fair 3 times in 5 days - he ate SNS 3 times in Food-A-Rama pavillion. I think I would have held out for other stuff (I did!).

Another place we have found that rivals SNS is Culvers. Founded in Wisconsin and only in midwest right now. Also cooked to order - give it a try sometime. They advertise "butter"burgers. Don't know where butter comes in, but they are great also.

After suggestion from the board, tried Steak and Shake on our trip August 2003 and it was fabulous. In fact, we had a couple of meals there, breakfast and dinner. We definitely plan on going back there for our next trip in August 2004. Hubby loved it. Does anyone know of the closest Steak and Shake to Universal Orlando. We will be staying there for four days as we break up our trip between WDW and UO and would love to know where another one is in Orlando. I tried the website but Im not sure of the distance between the site and Universal.

For the past 8 years whilst we've been vacationing in Orlando we've given this place a miss thinking it was just another burger joint (McD's et al).

How wrong was I - the burgers and malt shakes were fab, my kids loved them and great value.
