We will be staying YC Concierge the last week of August. In the past I have always faxed in my room request ahead of time. I've always asked for nonsmoking, upper floor, and a beautiful view. When I've stayed standard I didn't want my view to be the parking lot and have gotten lucky enough to be given true garden views. Ok, my question is when staying concierge, who makes the room assignments? Is it the room controller still, or does concierge assign their own rooms? Also, is it necessary for me still to fax in a room request? Thank you!!:D

The concierge makes the room assignments. You should contact them directly with any room requests as part of the preplanning assistance.

Thank you, Ducklite!:D I was hoping you would answer.:D :D

We just returned from a week at YC concierge and paid for lagoon view.....we had two rooms and also asked for connecting since one room was children (teens) and nonsmoking since DD HATES smoke smell. We got two rooms, connecting, but both were smoking. We notified concierge of this but decided not to change rooms since it was late in the day and we were ready to unpack and get settled so that we could go to the parks. So they just came and air freshened the rooms for us and it wasn't too bad. The room that DD was in wasn't as 'smelly' as the other one and the boys (teens) in the 'smelly' room didn't complain so all was well. Anyway, I'm not sure who assigned them but I think it was concierge. She just missed the 'nonsmoking' part I guess! But the view was awesome and we sat on the balcony a lot just enjoying the action at SB and looking out over the Boardwalk and all.

I just returned from YC Concierge and all concierge rooms are located on 5th floor. But I would give the concierge staff a phone call (they are wonderful!!!) and let them know your preferences. Since you are staying concierge, make sure to take full advantage of the services the staff provides. Send them an email or give them a call. We worked with Betty and Teresa and the were both lovely ladies who couldn't do enough for our stay.

ENJOY YOUR TRIP!!!

DRoseBall and ReneeDisney, how did you enjoy your YC Concierge experience? Please give details!!:D :D Thanks in advance!:D

My husband I loved every minute of our YC Concierge stay. The staff, especially Teresa and Betty were so very helpful and very cordial. They loved to hear about your day and what you were going to do the next day, if they could help or offer suggestions - they always had a smile on thier face!

Our room had a great view of Crescent Lake and the Boardwalk (sorry can't remember the room number, but it was about 5 rooms from the concierge lounge). It had 2 queen beds, a desk, tv cabinet with wet bar (refillable mugs in the room- love that). and a great balconey- that we were able to watch the EPCOT fireworks from our room!

We were happy with food offerings in the loung!

Breakfast was normal continential offerings with buns, muffins, bagels, breads, spreads, cereal, fruit, coffee, juice, water (not bottled) but they did offer the styrofoam cups with lids (which we filled with water and/or coffee to start our day at parks, etc.)

Afternoon snacks were the best with all kinds of cookies, goldfish, tortilla chips, salsa, pita breads with various hummus type spreads, pbj sandwiches and mac & cheese for kids. I highly recommend tasting the oatmeal/raisin cookies (YUM).

Evening snacks there was lots of wines to try with pastries, cookies, and chips again. Also, they sometimes had a hot dish (like a meat and vegetable stir fry) but never tasted that- didn't want to ruin dinner plans.

We ate breakfast in the lounge every morning and took snacks to the pool every day as well. The concierge lounge staff was very helpful if you don't see something you want or if they have run out of something. For us we really wanted cookies @ 8am one morning and I asked a staff member if I could have 2 and then she brought me a plate of about 10 of them and told me to bring to my room so we could make sure to have later.

All in all it was one of the best experiences we have had a WDW and will definitly be going back. You will love it... (but this is just my opinion!! :)

ReneeDisney, can you tell me if there were cans of soda available in the concierge lounge?

Wow, ReneeDisney! Thanks for the posts!:D I am really looking forward to my first stay at YC and the concierge. It sounds very special. :D I, too, would like to know about the cans of soda.

There were, but thye were not out--you had to ask for them.

If you click on the link in my sig I have a photo of the room Renee described--in fact it might be the exact room she was in.

We don't really drink that much soda, but the cans were in a cabinet underneath the water, juice, wine buffett table.
I didn't see anyone asking for them, people just went in the cabinet and helped themselves. If this is important to you, make sure you mention it to concierge staff and I'm sure they will accomodate you. ENJOY!!

Great info ReneeDisney!! :) We stayed in the Yacht concierge in Jan but I was having a hard time remebering certain things!! You are bringing it all back to me know!! :)
