Traveling to WDW in late september. Hoping for another Free Dining option but for now want to make a reservation. Ideally would stay at 2 different resorts the first being a night or 2 at the All Star family suite. Currently have the 40% off code. What are your suggestions for us?

Kids are 14, 9, 8 and 4. Don't want the entire stay at the All-stars. Like relaxed sort of atmosphere. Would like to try out as many resorts as possible. Not opposed to renting points but want the dining plan (free or otherwise) since it works for our big eaters. I'm all ears. TIA:flower3:

I think the cabins at Fort Wilderness can sleep 6 people. And you get a mini kitchen there as well as the family suites. We went for free dining last September but I am not sure if the cabins or suites qualified? We had 2 connecting rooms at Port Orleans French Quarter and LOVED it. Very quiet and relaxing and my kids 11, 8, 5 really liked the pool.

Do your kids like to swim?

Storm-A-Long Bay at the Beach & Yatch Clubs is supposed to be one of the best pools on property. But with 6 people, I'm not sure what room catagory you would need and at the deluxe prices, even 40% off will cost much more than the All Star Suites.

The cabins are very quiet and actually have a bigger kitchen then the ASMu suites as you have a full size fridge, full size stove, regular sink and dishwasher. But don't know how much cooking you'll be doing if you're on the meal plan. The cabins are more remote though-not quite as easy to get around.

If you want to do the meal plan for both resorts you would need to buy park tickets for both packages. If you rent points you would need a 2BR but I don't think you need to purchase park tickets to get the meal plan while staying on DVC points. I don't know too much about that.

Two rooms at POFQ sounds like a great option.

thanks for the quick replies so far. some info that I left out. We have stayed at the POR and would like to try a different resort. I have had to conince my DH that we need to stay at the All Stars b/c kids are growing and want them to be able to enjoy it now. I know I'll never get him to stay longer than 1 or 2 nights so want to start off there and then move to another resort. It is such a pain trying to figure out what our options are. TIA:grouphug:

a 2-bedroom DVC unit will not have free dinning unless you rent one directly from Disney.

if you want to save money rent from a DVC member - then you have to buy the DDP.

here are the DVC resorts
OKW
SSR
VWL
BWV
BCV
AKV

the 2-bedroom has a full kitchen, plus washer/dryer - king bed in the master, queen sleeper sofa in the livingroom, and either 2 queen beds or 1 queen bed and a double sleeper sofa (depending upon the resort and type of villa)

there is a whirlpool tub and shower stall in the master bath, the second bath is just a combination.

the one expection is AKV - it allow 9 people - have a chair bed in the livingroom and right now the whirlpool tub is a combination not a separate shower (this will change when the new Kidani is open).

OKW is probably the best buy. the living area is a lot bigger at oKW.
