NEED HELP

Alright you creative window peeps! it's been awhile since we've chatted for real and i have a trip coming up...sooo

I need some tips for a GREAT MAy window!

DH and i have been brainstorming, i'm going to do some big flowers since it's the F&G festival..but i need something else too!

Anyone else have any ideas? Oh and we have 2 windows since we have 2 doors!

How Does This Work?
After you have exchanged info with your
Box Buddies, you will then arrive on vacay.
On check in to the Front Desk, you will be
given the package. You may have to ask for
it though. Use what you need! I ask that you
PLEASE take pictures of your final product
and post them upon return! PLEASE
add one item to the box and then pass it on.
At check out, you will leave the box at the
front desk for the next person by giving
first and last name AND travel dates
PS-> If you get a chance PLEASE take
an inventory of what is in the box!!

Hi everyone! Unfortunately...we are home! I just wanted to update everyone!

Upon arriving on the 9th I was given a paper bag containg some decorations at check in along with a little lecture from the CM about how they wished items left for guests were in good condition, clearly labeled. I was suppose to receive both boxes to baby sit so I knew this could not possibly be everything so the next morning we went to luggage services and asked if there were any packages left for me I was told no. I went again that evening and asked and at first they could not find anything but the CM was great about it and asked me what they looked like and what size they might be. At this point I guessed and estimated a size using my hands... lo and behold he then found two boxes for me! Actually I had guessed the size pretty well!

One box was packed to the hilt and had obviously spilled over into the bag which I had received at first the other box not quite as full, there were so many labels and markings on the box that I could not tell which one was box one and which one was box two. I had already been asked to sort through the boxes and redistribute so I did not think it really mattered which was which at this point. I went down to the cafe and asked a CM if I could have the napkin box he just emptied and he was more than happy to give it to me. The napkin box was quite large so I wound up using that box and the bigger of the original boxes. I removed all the old labels from the box, cleaned it up as best I could and basically started the boxes over!

I took a complete inventory of the boxes and will post it below... I also have claim numbers for both boxes but I have yet to unpack so I do not have them handy yet.

Before I give you the inventory lists I just want to say we had an absolute blast decorating our window for Valentines Day! I did not use many of the decorations from the box as I had brought many of my own, but it was fun going through and picking and choosing what to use! I have some awesome pictures but did not bring a digital camera and only have the old fashioned paper pictures! If anyone can help me post them I would love to and would be so grateful...if necessary I can mail a copy to the person who would be willing to do so... I would really like to see them posted I am quite proud of our window! The maid had fun playing in our room and some days we ended up with two new towel creations for a grand total of ten! They were all so cute! Of course we tipped her well each day and left a special gift for her on Valentines Day consisting of a plush rose and some red heart shaped suckers and of course $!

I believe it would be so helpful if the next person to have each box would bring a roll of packing tape to leave in the box as it is impossible to properly seal the box using the regular scotch tape and the boxes really were not in too good of shape when we got them. I had a roll of packing tape for a fridge swap and was able to use it to seal the boxes but could not leave it....sorry!

All in all we are back to two BOXES which are in good shape and sealed and labeled well and have a little extra room to add to.

I hope this helps some of you in your planning, I tried to keep as detailed a list as possible and I tried to carefully pack everything using sandwich bags to seperate. Some of the window clings are definitley in need of replacement and I did discard of some things which I deemed unuseable in order to make room for new things and reduce damage in packing boxes too full.

And again if anyone is able to help me get some pictures posted I would be so grateful! We had so much fun with this I hope these boxes continue for a long time! I would love to use one again in the future!

We have some friends and their little girl coming tomorrow who have never been to WDW's resorts before and we would love to surprise them with a decorated window. PLMK. We're only staying tomorrow but I live locally so I'd be willing to take the boxes home and bring them back on X date...etc.

I ALSO wanted to mention that in May i will be putting a PAGE PROTECTOR on the box all taped up except for the open end with blank paper and that way we can eliminate the labels and just keep changing out the names/dates/reservation #s that way!!!!

Did someone forget to tell me that SA53 dropped out? I just happened to go back through the posts from the date we left for POP and noticed that SA53 dropped out sometime after I left for the world. Following the directions from post # 1551 I have left both Box # 1 and Box # 2 for her. I had PM'd her and gotten her info and then never heard anything more so I thought everything was on track and good to go! Now it appears differently? After all my hard work and effort finding new boxes, dividing and inventoring? What will happen now? There are two boxes sitting at POP waiting for someone who will not be coming...

I am so sorry about this - I was so careful to check and doublecheck all of my contact info! I swear to you the last PM I received from her gave me her info and said absolutely nothing about cancelling or even thinking about cancelling and I clearly told her to feel free to give me a shout with any changes - have not heard anything since! I don't think there was anything I could of done or changed to avoid this...
