Wow, I can't believe you haven't told your kids about the trip! Half the fun is the anticipation of the big event, I wouldn't have missed sharing the planning, dreaming, and suspense of these trips with my daughter for anything in this world. We lay in her bed at night, and talk about what we want to do, where we are going to go. :yay: She is 13, so maybe she is older, but, she feels that she has contributed to the trip, which she has. She is an amazing kid with terrific ideas. :woohoo:

I actually agree with this! They think we're going at the beginning of May. They've already chosen the restaurants they want to go to, my oldest has touring plans drawn up, etc... The real surprise is when we're going. They've always wanted to go for the Halloween party and we've never been able to. My oldest actually came up with the idea for our costumes in the hopes that we could do the party one year. They think we're going to the Grandparents in October. We drive at night, so hopefully they won't become aware of where we are until we actually get there. We talk about the "May" trip all the time. The real trick will be packing, but since they'll be in school the morning we leave, I'm hoping we can pull it off.

Cool! I think that is awesome. Like I said, my daughter has had so much fun planning this trip, I could't imagine doing it without her. I hope you all have an amazing time!

We did that last year. We'd already been once, so DD got to help plan then. Then she thought there was a chance that we'd be able to go this year, so I was able to ask her questions, etc. & she thought it was for a year away. We upgraded to APs on our Dec. 2004 trip, and managed to keep it a secret until the day we left, Sept. 25 - the surprise was well worth it! We flew for the very first time, and had a layover in MN (we're from IL), so she didn't know about wdw until they announced the flight boarding to Orlando. The biggest part in keeping it a secret was after we had to tell the teacher, etc., but everyone managed not to tell her. We're going again (in 2 weeks :bounce: :bounce: ) and she just said to me this morning "This is the trip I thought we were planning all last year."
