Disney veteran here - I've never been to Universal and have just started researching an extremely budget trip. I was considering getting the Flex tickets. It will be me and my DS (8) on this hopefully 7 day trip and I want to have lots of fun but not spend a ton of $$.

If I stay at the Royal Pacific for one night how long will that give me FOTL access for if the tickets are good for 14 days? Do I need to stay onsite for each day that we actually plan to be at U/IOA in order to utilize FOTL? I've looked for this answer and couldn't find it. Thanks so much!

If you stay onsite for one night, you will get two days of FOTL but no more. The rest of the time, you'd have to wing it but depending on when you're coming down, that may not be an issue.

Great - that would be plenty. Thanks for the quick answer!

For the record I'm thinking of going May 30-June 6 - no Disney this time other than Downtown Disney. I figured three days of U/IOA and utilize the FOTL tickets for two and do Sea World, Wet N Wild and Aquatica the rest of the time.

::yes:: ::yes::

I am thinking about doing the same thing. So I understand if I arrive at 11:00AM on June 11 and stay onsite on the 11th my family of four would be able to get FOTL priv for the 11th and 12. Is this correct? How does it work? Are we issued special tickets each day.

Thanks for all your help.

Your room key is your FOTL pass. Each person registered in the room will receive their own key. Printed on the key will be your dates of stay. So, in your case, it would say

Jgiants21
6/11/08 - 6/12/08

When you check out on the 12th, you keep your key. It is good until the parks close on the 12th.

In the parks, you will use your ticket to get into the parks. You can then put it away. You will now flash your hotel room key at the express line at each ride. The team member will look at the check-out date and make sure they are still valid. He will then open the rope, or step aside, to allow you into the express line.

Best perk ever!

Sounds great! Thanks for the info. I will definitely stay one night for this priv.

I wish we were staying onsite for a day or two, but couldn't pass up using our timeshare. We'll be in Orlando June 11-24...69 days from now and I can't wait.

We are going down over Christmas.

I plan on doing Universal Dec 31 to Jan 3. We are rope drop people. Would I be crazy not to stay on site for FOTL? HOw bad will Jan 2 & 3 be for lines.

There isn't really a rope drop at Universal. However, the parks usually start letting people in early. So get there at least half an hour before expected opening.

I think you will enjoy yourself a lot more if you stay onsite. It just gives you such flexibility at that time.

Thanks we stayed at the HRH a few years ago. I have a chance to stay at a time share for a few days at the end of our WDW trip. I will probley end up staying on site.
