Staying at the Disneyland Hotel (DLH), you have two ways to get to the parks. You can walk all the way through DownTown Disney (DTD), or you can hope the monorail is open. When you walk out of the DLH grounds, you walk past ESPN Zone, then past Rainforest Cafe, and the monorail entrance is after that. The monorail puts you right into Tomorrowland. So if you are going straight to Tomorrowland, the monorail is a great way to get in. If, however, you're going elsewhere and TL is out of the way, it's probably better to just walk through DTD.

Paradise Pier Hotel (PPH) is across the street from the Grand Californian (GCH). Their signage tells you to go out the back/side, which causes you to walk all the way past DLH, into DTD, and through DTD. Exhausting! (though it's a way to get to/from the monorail)

But if you go out the *front*, you can get to the crosswalk, go into the Grand, turn left to go down a hallway, follow the others walking with you, and you'll find yourself coming out halfway through DTD. That can get you to the esplanade, where you can go into DL or to the front gates of DCA. You could also choose to go through the lobby and follow the signs to DCA, if you wish to come out well inside of DCA, right across from Grizzly.
