Staying offsite-questions about purchasing tickets from UCT

I have a couple of questions regarding purchasing tickets from Undercover Tourist and how they work with magic bands...

We are a party of 7 staying offsite this time. 4 of us have annual passes and I will be purchasing 3 park hopper tickets for the college kids in our group. I have never bought from Undercover Tourist before and was wondering if they send you the actual Magic bands and then you link them to your MDE account or whether they send you the paper ticket with a code on it which you input into MDE? If they send you the paper ticket, can you then order magic bands from Disney for free, choosing your colors and all that?
I searched Disboards for this question but didn't see anyone else asking this.
Any help would be really appreciated! Thank you in advance!

You'll receive tickets from UT that you can then link to your MDE account. Disney does not provide free MB to those staying offsite, so the college kids in your group will need to either use their RFID ticket or purchase MB.

staying offsite = purchasing magic bands for $12.95 each. i just ordered mine online through disneystore.com but there are guest relations places at the parks/downtown disney where you can purchase them.
