Trying to decide if I want to drive our rental car to park or take shuttle from Windsor Palms... My sister told me to take the shuttle as the shuttles drop you off very close to the park entrances where driving and paying to park will take alot of time between maingate to parking to riding tram to park entrance.. How long from driving through Disney entrance to standing at the actual park entrance does it take? We are going to Disney June 10-17

I'd rent a car. You can take the shuttles but then you're on someone else's schedule. For the MK, you're still only going to be dropped off at the TTC by an offsite shuttle, so you'll still have a 20-30 minute ride before you walk into the park. When we went in 12/00, we were always some of the first through the parking lot gate, parked close enough that we could walk to the entrance to the park or the TTC. Only a few minutes and it was usually much quicker than waiting for a tram, etc.

My reccomendation is to call your hotel and find out very specifically how the shuttle operates. Some hotels have hotel to park service on a regular schedule; others have a morning run to the Ticket and Transportation Center, and then an evening run back to the TTC to pick everybody up.It varies from hotel to hotel.

It sounds like your sister may have been staying on Disney property, because the only busses that drop you off at the gate, are the Disney busses.

I can't give you specifics on how long it takes from maingate to park entrance because it varies from park to park, and day to day depending on traffic flow and whatnot. Your longest commute will be to the Magic Kingdom. You have to park at the Ticket and Transportation Center, and take the monorail to the Magic Kingdom.

I've NEVER had to wait long for a tram, either. The trams run fairly regularly, and there's always been one waiting for us right after we parked.

My friend with his family did a shuttle route last year and he said if he ever stayed off site again he would definately invest in a rental car...

To much planning on when you need to get to a shuttle stop and to much time waiting on a shuttle..
