Staying off site and driving to the start area?

Has anyone stayed offsite and drive to the full marathon start area? The hotel that my friends and I will be staying is about 3 miles from Epcot. How is the traffic on race morning?

Traffic is extremely heavy--I was amazed at the cars on the road at 3:30 in the morning. I was on a bus, just just remember seeing all these cars around us. They do have a lot of people working traffic control, so I think if you just allot plenty of time, you should be OK.

We have stayed at the Swan and Dolphin the past 2 years and have driven to the start of the 1/2 and the full. If you arrive early, you will not have a problem. Traffic leaving EPCOT after the races is not bad at all. Of course, I finish close to the allotted time for every race so that may be why.
