We have booked ten nights at the hilton seaworld hotel but are staying one night at the HRH on the 4th night. Do i tell the hilton that we will be away for one night (as a courtesy) or just carry on with what we are doing leaving them non the wiser?

never done this sort of thing before so not sure what to do.

many thanks for any info

Hi, i've done this loads of times, staying on i-drive then booking a few nights at disney and i just go ahead and do it.Have a great trip :Pinkbounc

Many thanks for your reply.

Were your cases and other items all safe when you came back? This is our main worry. Our valuables will be in a safety deposit box so we know they will be ok.

I think I would be inclined to let them know - in case for example there is a fire and they think you are in there?

Just what I would do but I'm sure others will differ :)

We did this in May when we were staying at Holiday Inn international and went for a night to Saratoga Springs Resort at Disney. We did not tell the hotel but did take all the valuables out of the safe and put in the safe at SSR. Our friends also did the same on the same trip when staying at Hard Rock Hotel for a night.

Have a great time.

I think you SHOULD inform the hotel. If there was a fire or similar, particularly at night, they would be risking lives looking for you. They've had their money - why would they care if you're away for a night?

I'm thinking of staying elsewhere for a night and we are staying in a villa for the majority of the holiday, do you need to let the management company know if you go elsewhere for a night....

Hi, when i go elsewhere, we too take our valuables , other stuff has always been fine, left in the room.To answer the point of fire evacuations, one year a suspected murderer was on the loose in the grounds of our hotel and they evacuated it.We were at Universal at the time and only found out from other guests that were there. There is no way they will assume that everyone is in there rooms at all times as you do not sign in and out, when leaving and returning, although it is a valid point. :Pinkbounc

hi
a note of caution, we informed the management that we would be away fro the room fot three nights and our room was definately used by another person/persons. we found an expired 3 day pass, snacks and toiletries that certainly wern't ours. nobody was particularly interested when we reported it. now we leave the do not disturb sign on the door and don't tell anyone!

The point I was making was that if there was a fire in the middle of the night - they would NOT assume you would be at a park, as they would be closed! I'm talking about the sort of time most families sleep.

Ah, but you could still be at city walk though ;)

When on holiday you can be out at anytime. The Halloween Horror nights go on to early on in the morning and it could take ages to get back. You can go to pleasure island etc. You could get up really early to take a trip to the beach for the day and as stated previously you do not sign in or out.

As far as I know, there are no rules to say you have to occupy the room at the hotel you have booked. You have paid for the room at the Hilton. It's up to you what you do with it.

We paid for 14 nts stay at the Hard Rock a few years back and went over to the Yacht Club for a couple of nights without telling the HRH.
