any suggestions.....
there will be 5 of us so we requested room with Trundle bed...

is there a certain building I want to request???
is there a noisy section I want to avoid?? etc etc

We have always got one on the back buildings. Very quiet there. Don't mind the walk to the food court. I guess it depends on if you want to be close to everything or not. We were in building #28 and one in the 30's. Close to a bus stop so we loved that in the mornings. Near the quiet pools as well.

Your answer really depends on what you like personally.

We always stay as far away from the main pool as possible, for 3 reasons.

1. We love the walk in the morning to breakfast.
2. It tends to be much quieter
3. Its closer to the parking lot.

we usually stay closer to food courts..... what buildings do u recommend

If you want to be close to the food court, buildings 14, 15, 18 are the best choice. I personally liked it when we were in 28, though. It was not too far from the food court, but at the same time, it was close to the West Depot, which is the first dropp off spot for several of the bus routes.

We just stayed there in September in building 18. It was perfect(to us). Close to the foodcourt and there was a path right to the bus stop(west depot) but blissfully quiet. The really nice thing about this resort is their main pool is actually on an "island"(Old Man Island) and you have to cross a bridge to get to it, so none of the buildings are right adjacent to it.

Here is a map to help you in your selection:

We stayed in Building 16 which was nice with a beautiful quiet pool and laundry behind us. My suggestion for you is to try to schedule a day at the resort. Swim in the main pool, take the boat to DTD, shop in the gift shop, watch the piano guy at night. Its a beaufiul resort - I can't wait to go back.

Since those of you who answered have been there recently...

Does POR have a fridge in the room? We haven't been to WDW in four years and last time stayed at CSR. Thanks!

We are staying at POR for the first time next month and just wanted to pass on that there is a website called Portorleans.org that has a wonderful map of Riverside & French Quarter. Shows all buildings, bus stops, food court, etc. We also have five so will be in the AB buildings and because I really like to be close to the food court & a bus stop I wanted to check out locations to request.

This sight helped me out a lot. Hope it helps!

We stayed in Building 14 last year which was not far from a quiet pool or the main buildings.

we are thinking about staying 1 night at POR after our cruise.

We are also a family of 5 and will need the trundle bed. My son who will sleep on it is 10y old, 5"3". from what I read the trundle bed is for a small child :confused3 is it smaller than a cot???

When we go to hotels he usually sleep on a cot, not always comfy, often we put the mattress directly on the floor, that why he doesn't feel the springs...

Another question for POR, how is the transportation to MK? Is there a lot of buses after parties? Will I have to wait a long time (like at the ASM)? How long is the bus ride?

Thanks in advance :thumbsup2

I haven't stayed in AB, we were in the Mansion section, but from what I hear, your son should be fine on the trundle.

I found the transportation to be pretty good. Only one night at MK EMH did we have a long wait, but it could happen at any resort.

We were in Building 17-Room 1763 this past May - it seemed like a long walk to everything. It was not near the bus stop or the food court. Don't want to stay in that one again.
