Please convince me that switching our trip from Coronado to Pop will be ok? :( I'm so sad but we're having to cut back due to some unexpected recent expenses. :( Tell me all the great things about Pop! :)

Those our our two favorite resorts! For budget trips we do Pop and love it! For trips where we splurge we do Coronado and live it too! We don't do a whole lot in the room so it really doesn't matter. They are of course smaller with smaller beds but that's ok. Daughter loves the pool at Pop. We don't mind the food court. Busses are fine - sometimes even ride the extended length ones. Actually we like how you line up for busses at pop - no one cuts people who have been waiting. The one thing we love about Coronado is the business class. I take my little 4 cup coffee maker to Pop since they don't have in room coffee.

Even tho I haven't technically stayed at Pop Century, I was at AoA this time last year and we took a walk over to Pop to check it out! The bridge that connects the two resorts is really nicely done and made for a nice, quiet stroll with my sisters. You get to see a lot of the outdoor decorations of both hotels, which are fun and colorful so I bet little kids would really enjoy them, especially the giant Mickey with the foosball players! The whimsical and at times over the top themes at all the value resorts is something I personally love, it just makes the whole trip even more like a dream world if that makes sense lol :p but anyway, I hope you have a really great trip!! :tilt:

Our two favorites!!! for moderate and value. Be sure to walk all over AoA - imagineering at it's best right down to the landscape (Nemo landscape looks like underwater plants). Eat at the AoA food court, one of the best on property and they serve it on real plates with real silverware (like CSR).

Save even more money - book a Standard room then request LAKE VIEW. Beautiful scenery, quiet and still a short walk to main hub. We love 50's Lake View!!!!

We love both resorts. I've visited Coronado many times but have never stayed there, we have stayed at Pop and really liked it. The food court has a lot of unique offerings.

Don't be sad, both are GREAT! The biggest thing you are really giving up is going from queen beds at CS to full beds at Pop. Aside from that, both are really nice!

Personally I would pick POP over CSR any day. CSR is probably my least favorite resort.

We have had four wonderful trips staying at Pop. We have never had anything negative happen and would definitely recommend staying there. Our favorite location to stay is the 50's building, top floor, facing the lake. I hope you enjoy your stay there.

We had great trips at all 3 resort levels and have never regretted one of them. In a way I feel sorry for the folks that say they can only stay deluxe etc. "Variety is the spice of life":D

My mom, daughter and I stayed there for a long weekend. The best thing about it was the huge icons that you can pose for pictures with. The cutest in our opinion was the big surfboard Goofy (I think that's what he was). We stayed behind the big Mickey phone. We barely got to see any other areas and missed the pool but I am sure there was more to explore. We loved things as simple as the shadow boxes in the lobby which held memorabilia. We would stay again.

Thanks everyone! We also have to stay one less night now too but I'm just glad we're still able to go! :)

POP and Coronado are also my favorite value and moderate!
One thing that I prefer about Pop over Coronado is that everything is in one food court area as opposed to split between the Pepper Market and Rix Cafe. Even though we enjoyed the food at Pepper Market, it annoyed me that the only dessert choices were a rather small selection of desserts. I loved getting the fruit cups etc... for dessert at Pop.

It's also a lot smaller so room location isn't really an issue as far as distance goes. For a quieter room, I would stay away from pool view. I also like to just book standard when I am going to Pop. Lake view is a great option. I had this room in the 50's section that I loved. It was on the back side of one of the buildings. It didn't face the lake, but if you looked to your left, you were looking directly at the lake. So quiet!

The photo ops are great. They have signs around the resort with important things that happened in each year from 1950-1999. We made sure to get a photo next to 'our' sign. DD was bummed she didn't get one, lol. Being born in 1971, I had an extra special year!

The location of Pop within WDW is great. Like Coronado, you are not too far from any of the parks. The buses are good, but if you have a car it is very easy to drive to any of the parks. (though I prefer the bus for MK)

In general, I like POP more and would stay there first. I only ended up at Coronado last year because of availability. The only real difference to me was that the bus stops were covered and had benches. If you don't stand in the official queue POP has benches under an overhang further back, but I'm a first in line first bus gotta make rope drop type.

I see you have two kids. One of the best things about Pop Century for us was being able to share the place with our then two grandkids (third one on the way!). What made just walking around Pop Century with the youngsters was seeing their face with what were, to them, unknown things. We had a great conversation with our then five year old granddaughter who had no idea what a floppy computer disk was. We started out with how my husband and I learned on punch cards for programming and how things were saved to massive tape drives and how big computers were way back in the 80s and then her father (our son) joined in with how the internet wasn't around and when it did come in, he had to hook up to a *gasp* landline phone in order to use it and that was way back in the 90s. And then we said how we couldn't use the phone while our son was online. Our granddaughter was amazed with all that. Years later, when we took our grandson, he had no idea what a dial phone was and was amazed you had to do that. And a Walkman? No way!

As I've said before - Pop Century is great for bridging generation gaps and being a great place to explore how fast things have changed.

Oh - go along the lake and check out the signs for each of the years from 1950-1999 that list a "significant" happening of that year. Our son's year? The first Wal Mart opens!

Make sure you stroll on over to AoA, as PP mentions. Take the kids to "meet" Lightning and all the others in the Cars section, and don't miss the 40-ft Ursula down in the Little Mermaid section. The two resorts have a huge amount of icon theming!

Thanks for posting this question! I recently modified my reservation from Riverside to Pop due to unexpected recent expenses! But I can't get over the fact that Pop only has ONE sink in the room. Therefore, I also need some major coaxing into staying at Pop! :(

The CMs at the Pop are a great bunch! During my stay they all made me feel very welcome, and were so friendly and helpful.

We liked the Pop. My only complaint is the beds. I wish Disney would go with Queen beds in all its resort rooms for what you pay.
But Pop was great.
We liked everything we ate in the food court. The buses were easy.
Our room was clean.

We also spent most of our time in the parks.
