Ok, trying to figure this all out. I am staying at the Fort in June. I have purchased tickets from a reputable ticket company (not Disney). Now, how do I work Magic Bands. Do I need to purchase them separately? And once I get both the tickets and the Magic Bands I connect them through the Disney Site?

I am asking the question here since I am staying at the fort and don't know it if would be different staying at one of the hotels.

Thanks in advance for the help.

John

Have you booked your campsite? If so, register for My Disney Experience and link your reservation number. Then you will be able to link your tickets, customize your magicbands and select your fast pass experiences.

I use an ipad, so this link may be for the mobile site, but this is the link: https://disneyworld.disney.go.com/plan/

John, I just went through this so I can help. Here was my story: http://www.disboards.com/threads/ok-so-i-bought-magic-bands-from-the-disney-store-com.3465501/

With your reservation at the Fort the default is for your party to receive generic color MBs in MDE. You can get new ones this way, use old ones you may have kept from a past trip, or use ones from the Disney Store as I did.

If you buy bands as I did you need to go into My Disney Experience and add the bands to each person. If you bought tickets from UT or someone like that, they should have a serial number on them. You can use the "Link Tickets" button to load the serial number of the tickets you got against the MB for each person. After you choose the "Link Tickets" button, they have links and pictures to show you what numbers to load off the tickets.

So go into your MDE account (or set one up), load in your reservation ID# if it's not related to your email/name, you should see your default MB to customize with name and/or color (or decline and add bought ones), and then link the ticket numbers to the people who will be using them.

PS - I had to call the Tech Support for MDE twice since my upcoming reservation is a little complicated and they helped me out both times. So don't be afraid to try it.

As the first poster above, go online create a my disney experience log in and make sure your reservation and tickets are all loaded. If you do not pick colors, as Bama Ed said you will get the default Gray bands at check in. But if you go online and register everything you can pick out colors and they will mail them to you. My daughter got pink and hubby got blue. I stuck with the gray. They will give you additional sets when you check in each time you go. So my whole family has Gray bands for additional trips that we did not request them but got them at check in.

I kept all bands they give me because all work. As we have annual passes and just drive over all the time and I have used all various bands with my name and they all work even old fw ones I did not request.

If all else fails, you can call and a CM can help you to link your tickets to your Magic Bands.

I did that last year. Tickets arrive and I had no problems going onto MDE and adding them and associating them with each magic band. Worked like a charm.
