Stayed offsite. Didn't want to pay for parking, so we didn't!

We have always stayed on Disney property. This year, I went with my husband, 14 year old daughter and her friend. We decided to stay offsite for the first time so we could have more space for the 2 teens.

We paid for parking the first day, and HATED spending the $20.

So...my husband and I went to guest services and upgraded our 7 day park hoppers to AP's, got a refund on the parking and didn't have to pay for the rest of the week. LOL!

We are so excited to be Annual Passholders. We got the AP slider for our bands and you'd think we won the lottery we were so happy. Hahaha.

Disney is so smart. We got the AP's, then we had 20% off a lot of store merchandise, so we probably shopped a little more than we normally would have, and then my husband and I booked another trip for just the two of us in 2 1/2 weeks. You know, because we have AP's now. Lol.

We spent quite a bit of money to save $140 in parking for the week. :rotfl2:

Obviously we didn't just upgrade to save the parking $, but it was a factor in our decision.

We have AP's also for just that reason (well at least part of that reason). Gotta love that MM is included too.

Enjoy your year as AP holders (and we love wearing our AP sliders too).

Just so you know, once you're an AP holder you won't ever want to be without. :earsboy:

It is not what you SPEND, but how much you SAVED. LOL.

I am a TDS CM, we get great perks and discounts, but most of us spend WAY more because of them, overall.

I was born with a cheap streak running up and down my back. I am never enticed to pay more then I save just to save it. Just today I was ordering some stuff from Amazon. Just before I finalized my purchase they came up with the statement the if I just bought $16.00 more the shipping would be free. Wow, I thought. Then I checked and saw that my total shipping charge was $12.00. So without my cheap streak I could have spent 16 to save 12, so theoretically it only cost me 4 dollars for whatever I bought. Problem was I didn't need or want anything else so $12.00 was my cheapest option. In the case of the OP, $20.00 for parking was a real bargain. They spend thousands to save $140.00. Such a deal!

Plus, if you purchased the Platinum AP (which is all we can purchase as GA residents) you also get memory maker for the entire year!
