Bear in mind that stars are not an indication of how good a hotel is - just what facilities it has - it's possible for instance for a 3 star hotel to be superb, and a 5 star hotel to be awful. We stayed in the 3 star Howard Johnson and thought it brilliant.
On tripadvisor.com the Staybridge rates 28 out of 97 Anaheim properties reviews. As you will see, guests give it very mixed reviews.
Anaheim: Staybridge Suites Anaheim - Resort Area: "Not Good"
Common areas were not always clean--food trays stayed in the halls for days. Front desk staff often unfriendly, unresponsive. The restaurant at the adjoining Holiday Inn was horrible, both the food and the service. Look elsewhere.
Anaheim: Staybridge Suites Anaheim - Resort Area: "Nowhere to eat"
My family and I checked into the Staybridge on a Wednesday afternoon. When we arrived at the hotel after travelling for 8 hours we were informed that the restaurant wasn't open. But to our delight there was a yummy Del Taco around the corner, past the freeway off ramp and mobile home park. That night when we returned from
Disneyland we tried the restaurant. If you like a lot of fat and grease you are in for a real treat. The hotel itself is ok. The staff are polite and the rooms are clean. But, if you are not a person who eats at fast food restaurants or if you enjoy things like fruits and vegetables then don't stay there. Needless to say we moved to another hotel the next day.
Anaheim: Staybridge Suites Anaheim - Resort Area: "a good family hotel"
We were very pleased with this hotel. The rooms were clean and it was great to have a suite after a long day at Disneyland. The only thing that I would rate below average would be the sofa bed in the living area. It was not full sized, and only usable by small children. The breakfast was good but not fancy. There was always plenty of food. And choices to please anyone. A good choice and we certainly would return on our next trip. Or recommend to anyone (especially families).
Anaheim: Staybridge Suites Anaheim - Resort Area: "Good Choice"
My family stayed at the Staybidge from Nov 1 - Nov 5. I never got the Internet connection on my laptop to work with the wall jack. Even after complaing to the front desk several times, it didn't work. However, on my last day I connected the PC to the box on top of the TV and voila..... Too little too late though..
The breakfasts were great... The hot food varied each day along with the meat. (french toast/pancakes/eggs and bacon/sausage links). There was always bread/bagels/english muffins to toast, and muffins/danishes/donuts. There was also instant oatmeal packets, and several different Kellogs Cereals to choose from along with apples and bananas. They had peanut butter and a selection of jellies to put on the toast.
The property was well kept, and the kitchen in the room was the greatest selling point in why we booked there. My 3 year old is a very picky eater, so being able to cook dinner in the room was easy.
From a pool view room, the kids were able to see fireworks. Everything was great except the internet connection (although the webtv did work)
Anaheim: Staybridge Suites Anaheim - Resort Area: "Nice, not great."
Stayed here for 5 nights. The hotel is a 3 star, at best. I booked here because they have 2 BR kitchen suites that are very convenient to have when you are travelling with kids. The rooms are also reasonably priced for the space. Negatives: Carpet has several stains in room and in hallways - needs a good cleaning. Our bathtub had black markings all over, seems to be permanent. The housekeeping during the week is called "light". They make the bed, change towels and take out garbage. No clean sheets all week and you clean your own kitchen area / dishwasher. We wanted to check-in at 1pm, but they wouldn't allow anyone to checkin until after 3pm. I asked if this was because our room wasn't clean yet and they said that there wasn't any room assigned yet! Just policy to have everyone wait until 3pm, I guess! The hotel isn't that close to Disney. We ended up driving our car there because our flex pass included parking. The hotel has a transport service that comes once every 20 mins and cost $4 pp per day. Faster to drive and park. Hotel on oneway street, so Disney is much further away because you can't turn left. If you decide to stay here, ask for a 'poolside room'. Other side of hotel faces I-5 and could be very noisey. We were on pool side and it was much quieter.
