Stay/Ticket Question

Does anyone know if this is doable? I want to buy my tickets seperately. I was going to get the 10 day park hoppers and then I went to split my stays between poly and a boardwalk resort. Can I do this all seperately? By my tickets, then buy a four day room only stay at poly and then a five day room only stay a boardwalk resort. It is cheaper doing it this way.

When I call, a CM always tries to tell me I have to split my tickets, like get a four day park hopper with the poly stay and then a 5 day park hopper with the boardwalk stay. It's more expensive this way.

Can anyone help?

Yes, you can do that, just tell the CM when you make your ressie that you don't need tickets. When you check in to your first resort they will add the 10 day PH tickets to your KTTK card. Then when you check into the second resort they can transfer any remaining days to the new KTTK card. You do this at the lobby conceirge desk after you check in. It is really very easy, we did this in April with a YC GF split stay.

Thank you! The CM and my travel agent made it sound like it was impossible to do. I would imagine because of the price difference? Do I tell the CM that is what I am planning on doing or just make the ressies and leave it at that?

I just told them that I didn't need tickets, no explanation needed. I went on the Disney site and ordered the tickets a couple of weeks before we went. When I made my room only ressie for December I did the same thing because I'm not sure what I want. I will probably get an AP before we go this time since we are also planning a trip in May.

You also have time to check the ticket brokers for prices, too. Undercovertourist.com, mapleleaftickets.com and ticketmania.com are all reputable brokers that, after the bottom line of taxes, delivery and handling, will most likely save money over Disney direct. I saved almost $20 per ticket last year.

If you are getting the dining plan, you'll need to purchase tickets as part of the package. You can still purchase tickets for the rest of your stay, but you'll need at least a one day ticket with each stay for each package.

If you want to buy a four day ticket and a five day ticket, they will cost a lot more than one nine day ticket. The more days you buy, the cheaper it is to add the days. That first and second day on each ticket rack up the cost.

On Disney's web site, be careful you don't accidentally book a package instead of a room-only reservation if you want the latter. Sometimes a little "extra" such as miniature golf is thrown in and that makes the reservation into a package with more strict cancellation deadlines, etc.

>>> CM always tries to tell me I have to split my tickets ...
Wrong, and wrong. With a room only reservation you do not need to order any tickets. And with split stay packages the required tickets do not have to match the respective stays.
