Just wondering what people think of staying over near the airport (with cheap parking at hotel) for early 6:00 a.m. flight? Is there such a thing as "free" parking at hotels anymore? I did a search, but didn't see anything recent about the Philly area. We're not leaving until the end of June, so I have plenty of time!!!

I can't imagine what time we'll have to leave from South Jersey to get to Philly for a 6:00 a.m. flight!!! Ugggg.

Thanks for any opinions - Happy 2007!!:wave2:

I JUST did this the other nite (flew out of PHL at 620am on 12/31) and got the Renaissance that is a mile from the airport for right at $100 a nite with a military discount. Parking was FREE but there was a $9.95 charge for internet.

This place was top notch like most Renaissance hotels plus I earned bonus Marriott points just by answering a Philly trivia question at the front desk (they have a sign up on the desk and give you the points even if you dont answer the question correctly). I am actually emailing the GM of the hotel about our WONDERFUL stay and the fab front desk guy Patrick (the guy would make a wonderful CM!). There is also an airport shuttle if you need it.

I know this hotel had a AAA rate too that was very reasonable for the high caliber hotel that it is. Room service runs until 11pm - pricey but good food.

Oh and get to the airport early! The security lines are LONG that early in the morning!

I stayed at the Sheraton Suites, they have 24hr shuttle and a park and fly package

Here is the website...

Be at the airport the night before your trip and relax. Park, Sleep and Fly at Sheraton Suites Philadelphia Airport and receive:
  • Up to 7 nights of self parking for one vehicle
  • Complimentary shuttle service to and from the airport
  • Weekend rates from $129 and weekday rates from $189

Personally I would lay out the bucks and go the night before. You will need to pay for parking regardless. So the differnce wont be extrordinarlly high. The less stress is well worth it not worrying over road delays, not getting out of the house on time, car breakdowns - even a flat tire could cause you to miss your flight.

We almost always do park and fly to as we are two hours either way from either Philly or BWI and have a tendency to like the early morning flights....don't like to lose that valuable park time. In Philly we usually stay at the Sheraton.

Thanks for the help everyone!! I appreciate it. Will look into all the wonderful ideas.

A few years ago we stayed at the Hilton, they had a park-sleep-fly offer that worked out well for us.

We did the park-n-fly package from the Comfort Inn in Essington and loved it! it cost $140 and included a great free breakfast and the shuttle service was amazing, fast and courteous. There's a diner next to it so we ate dinner there the night before! You can park there for up to 14 days!
