I searched but couldn’t find anything, so I apologize if there is already a topic about it (or if it should be common knowledge:o). I am a fan but not a connoisseur of all things Harry Potter and was wondering.. what are the statues at the very entrance to the castle. The bronze ones… , specifically, the one holding a miniature Hogwarts school in its hand.. Thanks!

Hello,

The statue you are referring to is known as the Architect of Hogwarts. He is credited with designing and building Hogwarts along with Rowena Ravenclaw.

The humpback witch is another of the statues found in WWOHP and the statue is known for being the exit to Hogsmeade.

The third statue known as the pointing man I´ve got no idea who he is ..

Pictures I took of the statues:

- Architect of Hogwarts:

- Humpback witch:

Not mentioned in the post, but interesting nontheless:

- Indicator of the house points:

A-ha! Thank you both for the information!! Brandis – I was wondering about those “tubes” as well but forgot to ask! I am ashamed to admit to my HP ignorance but I thought they were some sort of candy popcorn:: (told hubby I thought they were candy – he said I see candy in everything :rolleyes1)

The Architect of Hogwarts statue had such amazing detail on it. I loved the icons of the four houses around his feet, the lion, badger, snake and raven.

As an uber fan of the books I loved all the themed details in the castle such as the One Eyed Witch Statue(humpback witch) which as the previous poster stated, leads to an underground passageway between Hogwarts and the basement of Honeydukes in the books. They also had Mirror of Erised hidden in the dungon portion of the queue.

There was only one small thing wrong about the queue and obviously it only matters to the Potter nerds and that is the "kitchen" sign on one of the doors. I noticed it my first time through the queue and thought with a laugh, "Well only I would noticed that was wrong." Of course I then hear a guy behind me say, "Kitchen? Everyone knows that the kitchen is concealed behind a painting of fruit for crying out loud! You have to tickle the pear to get in. There is no door that says kitchen in Hogwarts!" His girlfriend just kept walking and mumbling, "there is also no glowing exit signs and handrails in Hogwarts either." It just cracked me up, because at least I didn't yell it out loud and get mumbled at for my nerdiness.:rotfl:

There could be a door that says kitchen in Hogwarts. It just doesn't lead to the kitchen!:goodvibes

Love the HP nerdiness! We've been 6 times in the past month (thanks to lots of days off and fl resident resort rates:worship:) and i keep discovering new little details everywhere! Going back this weekend for just a quick day trip - looking forward to seeing more! :cool1:

I went in July and am now in the process of booking another weekend trip for Feb, this time on the Potter package(last time we stayed at Disney), then Im heading down in July again for the LeakyCon(Potter fan convention). At this rate I should just move to Florida. Might be cheaper than flying there every few months. But I love the place, it's Potter nerd heaven.;)

Interesting thread. I thought the "The Architect of Hogwarts" statue was Godric Griffindor . It didn't really fit but I couldn't imagine who else it was.

I was miffed that there weren't statues of the females founders of Hogwarts. Hahaha.

I realize that this thread is a couple years old but I was wondering if anyone who has been to the Wizarding World of Harry Potter happened to have a picture of the Slytherin snake at the base of the Architect statue. Or if any one happens to be going soon and get snap a picture I would really appreciate it.
I have never been to the Wizarding World and probably wont be for sometime so any help would be great.

Thanks!

If you google Hogwarts Architect and then click "Images" you will get quite a few photos of the statue. Although I couldn't see the snake on any of them. The Badger and the Lion are obvious though.

Quite true. It was behind just such a door that i found the room of requirement when I was a 4th year...

What? You didn't know Doofenshmirtz was a wizard name? ;)
