Statue of Liberty crown-NO WAY!

The scale between the crown size & people surprises me. I would have thought it would be larger.

We have tickets for July 26th and are so excited. We went to NYC last summer and skipped Liberty Island because we couldn't go up to the crown. Went directly to Ellis Island, which was practically deserted (first ferry of the morning) and had a great time there. We found information on my nephew's great grandparents (photo of the ship they came over on and their names on the ship's manifest). Good times!

I went up in the crown back in 1994 when I spent a week in NYC as part of the UN Pilgrimmage for Youth through the Oddfellows. I was 16 at the time and I remember that the climb wasn't that horrible because it was so slow! There were so many people that we were basically just taking our time getting up there. The view was cool and I think it's great that they've reopened the crown for tours!
