Does anyone know where I can check to see if in my state (Maryland) I can receive the referral incentive? I cannot check on the DVC website...I haven't received my password yet. Thanks in advance. :flower:

I looked on the web site for you and couldn't find any information. Sorry.. :confused3

they are monies for folks who got family or friends to buy DVC...........and dropped your name.............but the kick is you have to live in a state that allows it..............my state TN does not..............so i have lost out on 18 bonus since 91.................but those folks who bought all still own and that is enjoyment enough for me.

They actually give you $$$ for the referals or do they come in the form of vouchers or discounts on points, etc.?

I think the referals are allowed in VA, so feel free to drop my name! :rotfl2: It's a shame to let it go to waste.

yes ..........it used to be 150 bucks now it is 75 i believe.

Deba, call your DVC guide. S/He should be able to tell you. My guide told me that Pennsylvania does not allow the incentive.

Hooray! The incentive for the first successful referral is $200.00, and can be taken in Disney Dollars or can be taken off of your dues for the year. I did finally get ahold of my guide, and Maryland is a $$$ state! I knew some states just get a thank you card. Yea!

And, he told me that for each additional referral in the same year, the $ amount goes up! He said he has seen people come to WDW with fifteen hundred dollars in DDs just for DVC referrals. Now I need more friends, lol!

Thanks for trying to help me find the details, everyone! :grouphug:

Yes Maryland does allow a referral incentive -- I just received one from a kind co-worker!

Ct. I found out is out. :(

That's a shame. You'd think that you could get a gift certificate for dinner or some other non-monetary compensation. Doesn't seem fair! :confused3

Many state laws prohibit ANY form of gift for timeshare membership. Fair or not, it's out of DVC's hands--they must comply with state laws on the books.
