Hello-

we have a category 5 cabin booked. I just got my # and it's on the 7th floor towards the back of the ship. Do you think we will get more motion than if we were in the middle? My DD gets sea sick and I'm a bit concerned:confused:

We were on deck 7, stateroom #7623. It was fine and even though you could feel the motion a little bit, I don't think it's enough to cause motion sickness. But that's just me. I've been on 4 cruises and haven't gotten sea sick at all. What's your room #?

We were in 7606 last year and I loved the location. We never felt any motion at all there. The stateroom was right beside the stairwell/elevators and not too far from the laundry room, but we never heard any noise from either. :)

we were in the back of the ship on deck 7, cabin 7632, just a few weeks ago, and loved it! the only night we felt any motion was the last night, but seas were about 14 ft, so that was to be expected. however, it simply rocked me to sleep...and no one else in our group was sick either. HTH!

You will get many different answers for this question. With me I feel less motion forward and decks 5 and up than I do aft. It is terrible IMO in AP and PC some sea days at lunch.

I always sail in October (PRIME seasickness weather) and no one in my party has had trouble after the first night. You do feel more motion the less "centered" you are in the ship, but most of the things to do are on one side or another anyway. Now that I think about it, most of the children/family stuff is in the middle, and the adult stuff is on the edges. I usually feel the most motion in the Walt Disney theater on the first night. There are tons of cures for seasickness in any case, and depending on when you travel the oceans may be fairly calm. I think my husband used the bands once, and the first time we sailed I bought ginger gum at the health food store, which he said worked great and brought some with him each time.

I was on the April 25th cruise on the Magic, room 7622 and we were fine. I am prone to motion sickness but I started takign Bonine on Wednesday (before I left) and took it once a day and I was fine. I would book room 7622 again, loved the location and the views.

I love being Deck 7 Aft. The movement isn't that much more than any other part of the ship and you have easy access up to Topsiders and the drink stations from the back stairs. You also have easy access to the Deck 7 Aft deck.

I agree the more in the center, the better. You didn't say if you were on the 7 day. We had alot of problems coming back into the Atlantic from the Caribbean the night before we arrived at Castaway Cay. So many people were sick on the ship, including myself and my son. The shows were half empty and even then there were people getting sick all over the place. I am going to be more prepared for that night this next trip.

We were in 7604, no problem with motion, but we like rough seas so....You can't beat the location, 2 flights up to the Beverage station and Topsiders,
and a couple of flights down to the main dining rooms.

We are in 7608, so this is very reassuring:) I was also worried about the noise from the elevators.

I didn't realize we would be close to the laundry room. That's a defintite plus:yay:

Never worry about the noise from the elevators - you can barely hear them when you are standing in front of them! :rotfl:

For those that were on the April 25 to Tortola (the 7day easters) the first 2-3 days were rough, the swells (waves) were about 12-18 feet. Not only were fellow cruisers feeling the motion but alot of crew members visted the medical center as well. As I said in my earlier post, I was in room 7622 Aft and had no problem. I am prone to motion sickness and I took Bonine every morning.

But each person is different. I will say this being in the Walt Disney Theatre (it is forward)on Monday(APril 27) I couldn't sit in the theatre, the motion made me sick. There a few of us who left after about 10 min or so.

But don't forget each person's ecperience may not be the same as someone elses.
