Stateroom Availability after Opening Day

I booked the WBPC cruise early this morning for 2017 (yippee!) and while I did get the Cat I wanted and what looks to be a decent cabin, I was hoping for one deck up. There just seemed to be very little choice at the time...

I'm thinking that a fair number of people that booked yesterday and today are still sorting out their plans, may have multiple rooms/cabins on hold, or may change their cabin plans. I'm hoping that the selection options might be better in a few days when holds run out or when people better solidify their plans.

Does anyone have any experience with this? Do you think if I keep checking over the next week or so some more cabins will open up for availability?

Thanks in advance,

Any

I had a similar situation for our December cruise. I checked every couple of days, and different cabins did open up over time. I eventually got the cabins I wanted.

Give it some time. Rooms normally open up as holds expire or people decide on other dates. This far out, you will likely be able to get the room/deck that you want. There will likely be movement in the next month and definitely as PIF date approaches. Did you use a TA? If so, you can direct them to move you to the deck/room that you want when it opens up. We were able to move our room about 6 months before our WBPC cruise.

Are we able to upgrade ? If a room becomes available???
Yes. And the beauty of having booked on opening day - you're locked into what the prices were for those rooms on the day you made the original reservation. You don't pay whatever the price may have risen to by the time you can get a different room.

Yes, as long as there is availability in the new category/stateroom, you may upgrade or downgrade. You'll even get the pricing tier that was in effect when you initially booked.

Enjoy your cruise!

Only occasionally. :goodvibes

Thanks guys - I booked online myself so I will just keep an eye on the reservation (likely obsessively!) to see what opens up in the next few days. If I have no luck then, I will keep watching over the next few months.

People with holds from today, when do your holds expire, if you don't put a down-payment on them? That might be the magic day to check back.

The day you made the initial booking, so, I'd say today. Not the day you actually give them the payment. I could be wrong, all that fine print stuff........

Don't give up on it. We always book connecting rooms and fir one cruise we couldn't get them. I checked, (obsessively too), for about 6 months and my 2 connecting insides midship deck 9 appeared one morning and I was able to grab them.
