Well, I cannot belive it, but we've just booked the April 23, 2005 Western! We recently saw the DCL show on the Travel Channel and we started reminiscing and the next thing you know, I was on the phone with my TA.

Last time we were in a Cat. 6 on Deck 5 aft, but this time, we're foregoing the verandah to save almost 1000 bucks, so we'll be in 5500 in the forward part of the ship, with friends in the room next door. Has anyone stayed in either of these rooms? Please tell me the good bad or ugly while I still have time to change!

Thanks much!

We haven't been quite that far up, but we've been very close (secret porthole rooms). Because it is a small, dead-end hallway area, you won't get much hallway traffic. There is a minor potential for noise from the theater if they had a midnight show, but that doesn't happen too often. You will feel more motion forward, but if you're not prone to seasickness it shouldn't be a problem. That stateroom area is really convenient to the forward elevators. We've always enjoyed it when we've stayed there.

We will be on the May 22 cruise in 5500 and our friends will be in 5502. I will post when we get back about the noise level etc. But if anyone else has any info we would love to hear about the rooms also:)

We stayed in 5500 on our first cruise. It was a good cabin, like Barb said not much hallway noise just once in a while you would hear the CM's coming and going. We did hear a little noise from the Walt Disney theatre below us but it wasn't too bad. Have a great cruise!

Uh, oh. I am kind of prone to seasickness, maybe I should reconsider?
