I feel like I'm missing something here, so need a little help. Can any of you wise cruising veterans share the difference between the stateroom categories?

Some of the differences are clear by the room typemeaning standard vs. deluxe, inside vs. rooms with port holes or verandahs. But what in the world is the difference in a category 11A vs. 11B stateroom, for instance? It feels a little like alphabet soup to this newbie!

More specifically, trying to assess the differences (if any!) between an 04A, 04B or 04C state room.

Thanks all! Finding your insights and experiences to be VERY helpful as we think through planning our first trip!

It's location location location, the best rooms are midship so say a 4a is the most desired locations.
So all 4's are basically the same, maybe slight differences in verandah, but people prefer the middle of the ship for less movement. DCL knows over the years what rooms cruisers prefer so they charge a bit more for a better location.

Yes from 11 up the rooms get better, so it goes from an inside with no daylight, to ocean view, to navigators verandah and obscured view to full verandah and concierge.

People prefer higher decks so the rooms dsy on decks 6 and 5 could be the same but people pay more for the higher deck and a bit more on that for a midship location.

Deck two is close yo the engines and the movement of the waves and do us the cheapest against the rooms near the top of the ship with verandahs bring more expensive, it's supply and demand people will pay for better rooms and better locations.

Many of the cruise sites have, next to the encryption of the room, a deck number that's easily overlooked. You'll see the same description for all the same "numbered" rooms, but off to the side, the deck numbers will be higher the higher the price. This is the major difference.

Yes, it is based on location. If you download a deck plan from the Disney website for the ship you are interested in, it has all the stateroom categories and their locations color coded. So you can cross reference that with the category pricing you are looking at on the website.
