State pins too "Americentric?"

Does anyone else find the State pins too Americentric? Even though Walt was a big "American fan" I think back on when he said, "To all that come to this happy place; Welcome!" "To all" I think a more fitting pin for the 100th pin would have been Mickey holding a world globe that is "unfolded" so you can see all the continents, not just the Western Hemisphere.

I did buy 2 of the state pins, but I got them primarily to trade when I go down to WDW in January. I doubt I will keep either.

Anyone else or am I alone in this?

I love the Texas pin! Just back from the DS in Huntsville, AL and left the Alabama pins at the store! Guess it depends on the state and where your from.

This pin series is only being sold at the Western Hemisphere Disney Stores. It was very appropriate that the last pin be of the USA states and Canadian provinces that have Disney Stores. Although a World pin would have been nice.....this series was not sold around the world. The Disney Stores in Japan have their own 100 years series.

There have been a few pins released that feature the World. Here are a few.

Pin 8471: Reflection's of Earth 2001

I was very happy to see the states pins released. While a global pin sounds fun, everything does not have to center around global inclusion. Enjoy the fact that pride in the US has returned. I hope it stays around for a while!

One good thing out of all this TDS YoD series -- it put the OOMPH back into rack pins.

I was happy with them but won't be collecting many. This is because their isn't one for each province or territory... I understand that not everyone has a disney store but it would have made a nice set.
