We will be leaving Sat for a week in WDW and I was just looking at the schedule for HS. I saw that Fantasmic was listed for 7:30 and the SWFWs are at 8 the night we will be there. Is it possible to see both or do we need to choose which one we want to see since they are in different areas of the park?

You will neew to choose. No way to get out of Fantasmic and get into a position to see the projections that are a huge part of the Star Wars show.

We just had this issue last week. We hopped to HS on our Epcot day( I was able to book a fp for Fantasmic after we used our last fp at Epcot) to see Fantasmic and then we watched the Star Wars fireworks on our HS day. We also had this tentatively planned on our AK day.

The Star Wars fireworks so blow Fantasmic away anyway...:darth:
Ehhh. We saw them during Star Wars weekends and so I think that ruined us for the ones they do now. Hoping they have a better set up when they are done w the new Star Wars stuff.

That's what we did tonight. We saw the Star Wars fireworks on Saturday, which was our HS day. We then park hopped from EPCOT tonight, taking the boat over to see Fantasmic!. You CAN see some of the fireworks on way out of Fantasmic, but you'll not get to see any of the projections or hear much of the music.

These are not the same as the SWW show... Even blows Illuminations out of the water.

The new show is not a fireworks show. It cannot be compared with Symphony in the Stars, that was the most amazing fireworks show I've seen on Disney property ever. The new show is a "spectacular" which in Disney talks means a lot of different elements, fire, lasers, projections and fireworks. And if you are not situated in just the right spot you will not be able to enjoy it properly. That's the problem with the new show and why the are trying very hard to split people in the park between the show and F!

So, assuming you are able to sit in just the right spot.....where would that be & how soon before the FW would you need to be in place (I know, before everybody else! :joker:). We are going in Dec & I know that I can't convince DH & DD to give up Fantasmic but hopefully we can come back for the SW Spectacular! Hopefully it will be or they'll never let me live it down!

I just wanted to remind you that SWaGS will not be showing in December, we will have the Jingle Bell Jingle BAM holiday show in its place. Same viewing spots though

We did the Star Wars Dessert party to avoid having to stalk out a good spot. Even w that it wasn't the greatest view. We were slightly off to the left of the center stage, when you are facing it. Many obstructions in the way of getting a full view.

It's better to be off to the left of the center. But if you are off to the right you won't see the fireworks. I agree there are alot of things that can obstruct. I wish the Palm Trees could be cut down but then the Chinese Theater would loose some of it's theming
