Start tickets prior to package?

A while back you used to be able to activate park tickets up to three days before your hotel reservation starts with a package. I know that wasn’t an option anymore last time I checked but has that gone back into place?

You can purchase tickets separate from the resort room reservation with an earlier date. Just make a room-only or "base" package reservation. Unless you have a package that requires tickets in which case you'll have to decide whether you want to make an adjustment to the package dates or forgo the parks prior to check-in day.

We have a split stay with the package being tied to the 2nd resort. I was trying to get in a day at each hotel as a no park day but can’t make that work unless we buy 1 day tickets to use first - but that will cost more than it’s worth.

Tickets are date based being the ticket is part of a package they would not be valid until check in day.
As above if the package does not include a discount you can do a room only - still worth pricing out separate as you can get discounted tickets from places other than Disney-

Could you modify to put the tickets on the first package and just include all the park days you need? You’d need to be sure the ticket “good through” date covered through your last park day.

Why not kill the package? Many people get a better deal room-only buying tickets from a vendor like Undercocer Tourist.

We could, that was my first thought but I’m dealing with 4 reservations total (my two and my parents two reservations). I’m still considering this but dreading the phone call and reversed charges and additional charges lol.

Our tickets actually aren’t part of our discount - it’s not the one that you needed to buy tickets - it’s just the 25% off discount we used. Adding the tickets made it a package.

Basically I’m trying to spend a little time at the Polynesian as we have 3 days there. But, we will want to visit Epcot, HS and MK during those days. HS has the least for us at the moment so maybe a mid-day break and just go back for Fantasmic. I did want to catch the light parade on the seven seas lagoon but I don’t know what time that happens.

If a package is required for your discount but tickets are not why don't you turn it into a room-only "ticketless" package? Then buy the tickets separate and you can get the dates you want.

How far off is your trip? If both reservations are packages & you are outside of your full payment, there won’t be anything to reverse or recharge. Even if you’ve already paid in full, the price for the tickets cancelled on 1 package should be the same or within in a few dollars. They won’t actually cancel & rebook your package, just modify each one. It will be 1 call & done.
