start day at AK end day at HS

We are planning on starting our day at AK and going to HS around 1PM. We have a car and I was thinking of parking at HS (close handicap parking) and taking a bus to AK and then taking a bus from AK back HS. Is the bus service decent or should we drive? I like having close parking at HS when we leave after Fantasmic.

The problem you may have with that plan is how early you want to get to AK. I'm not sure the park-to-park buses start running before park opening, so if you're hoping for rope drop at AK, I doubt that will happen.

I also like having the car in a great spot where I am ending the day, just makes getting out of there faster and the car is closer to the park entrance. I think in this case because AK is your other park, busing over to AK lodge and then switching to an AK park bus is not going to take that much extra time. If you have time, a nice boat ride from HS to the first resort to catch their bus isn't a bad way to start the morning either

I've seen them (and used them,) but they don't show up unless someone is waiting at the stop. You can get one faster if you talk to the transportation CM on duty.

Park to resort buses can be hard to come by that early, as well.

I really recommend either just driving all day or taking the bus all day. The driving/bus combo is really only efficient between MK and Epcot or Epcot and DHS.
