I need to make my ADR's on Friday and I want to see the "Stars and Motor Cars" parade at MGM. In May, the parade starts at 5 PM. I plan to eat dinner that night in MGM. What time would I make a reservation for? :confused3

Thanks for your help! :earsboy:

You could go for 6pm to be on the safe side. Even by 5:45pm you should be fine. A lot will depend also on where you want to eat and where you will be watching the parade. Are you going to watch from where it starts or ends?

If you eat at Brown Derby, a 5:45 reservation should work if you find yourself a spot near the Great Movie Ride to watch the parade. It would only be a short walk once the parade was over.

I'm not sure where we will watch it from. Any suggestions? This is my first time to Disney with kids and since 1987! We were thinking about eating at the Sci-Fi or Mama Melrose's. The menu looks better at Mama's, but I think the kids would like sitting in the cars at Sci-fi better (they are 4 and 6). Open to any and all opinions!

Last year, we stumbled upon a great place to watch the parade, completely by accident. It's right at the beginning of the parade route, next to the Star Tours ride. Awesome place to catch the parade at!

Thank you for your help for my dinner reservation time and also for the good spot to watch the parade! :earsboy:

I have dinner ADRs at 6:00 P.M. at Mama's the parade is at 5:00 P.M. Where would be the best place to watch the parade. TIA

We were there last week and had ressies at MM’s at 4:20 and the parade started at 4. We knew we would be cutting it close, so we stopped at MM’s early in the day to see if we could move our ressies to 4:30 or 4:45 to be safe. They told us not to worry about it, we would be fine if we showed up a little late. That made me very nervous as I had heard stories about people being late for ressies and not being able to get in…but we kept it at 4:20 anyway. Well we watched the parade right by Star Tours and then once it was over, went right over to MM’s and we were right on time. That being said, as long as you leave at least a half hour from parade start time, you should be fine (unless you decide to watch the parade from somewhere way away from your dining location, then give yourself a little more time).

Watching near Star Tours was a good location, although we had some very rude people around us trying to ruin it for us. We got there pretty late and still had a good spot. But had we been earlier, we could have had a great spot on the shady side of the street.

To the OP sorry to highjack your thread. Freakylick thanks for the info.
