I'm doing research for our SoCa trip next summer and am looking to use a tour company for some of the time we will be in Universal City (staying at the Sheraton Universal).

Has anyone used Starline? Anyone used the Hop off/on feature? Is it difficult to wait for the next trolley. Is it really crowded and you may not get a seat to get back on?

Any thoughts?

It's one of those "it depends" answers.

Most of the time the busses run regular so there
isn't much of a wait. As I recall they even post
the times. Many times there are a lot of people
aboard a bus and sometimes you'll be all alone.

It depends on the day of week and the time of
day. As with all "touring plans" when you do what
most people do, you end up in a crowd. When you
go against the crowd patterns you end up with
fewer people.

Hopon-Hopoff is a nice way for transportation within the city, buses generally coming every 30 minutes and you will have this GPS-narrated voice along the way. You will be able to find a seat, it might be crowded on the top, but lower deck is usually available

Check out Extranomical company, they do tours on small vehicles, it's like a semi-private tour
