So disappointed with the new parade, Spetromagic was our favoutite, this seemed so lacklustre…floats were pretty but as stated elsewhere the misic was Meh and the dancers/walkers were just uninsspiring, overall not for us! Seems of late that Disney entertainment have no idea what makes something ‘Magical’ like the old imagineers did.

Count me among the Spectromagic lovers. I didn't hate the MSEP but I certainly didn't love the music, which was kinda like the "music" that plays during the EWP.

For a PP who wasn't sure what nighttime parade they saw, Spectromagic's theme song was a waltz, which is one the reasons I liked the parade so much.

I don't understand the negative comments (not from this thread). Parades and fireworks are not meant to be viewed through streaming. It's impossible to capture the true size, colors, sound, etc,. The "low-energy" criticism is weird. You can't feel the real energy unless you're there in person.

We saw our first nighttime parade, Paint the Night, last month at DL. Videos of it always looked meh and I didn’t really care if we saw it or not but in person, wow we all absolutely loved it. Please don’t judge it if you haven’t seen it in person. Parades are not meant to be seen on a screen, same goes for firework shows.

I was there last night and the new parade is great. The floats are very very impressive and the entire parade is very fun. I would highly recommend it I really enjoyed it

I can recall being at Disney several years ago and they had some sort of nighttime lighted parade. No idea if it was called Electric Parade or Spectromagic, but we enjoyed it. Pictures I have seen online of this new version seem similar.

We did a behind the scenes tour many years ago and they talked about how the music for various parades is coordinated with sensors buried in the street along the parade route. Perhaps they are still fine-tuning all of the details of this latest parade.

SpectroMagic ended in 2010, and Main Street Electrical Parade ended in 2016

Had 2 showings tonight. Not sure if they were any different than last nights.

I just watched again. Guys ... I love it. Just love it. And it's only going to be better in person.

If you watch the Disney Parks edited version, it eliminates a lot of the dead space in between each float, makes it feel seemless. I liked that a lot better. If you watch the live version, I think you can slip away between each float a get a ride in. Feels more like a cavalcade to me, budgeted and very lean on performers.

I thought some of the characters were "lost" on their floats.
Floats for Moana and the Blue Fairy were huge and they seemed kind of small.

I’ve watched it several times now and here’s my take.

The music is okay. I think it will grow on me, and maybe I’ll end up loving it.
The floats are beautiful, but some are so high, I feel like a few characters are too far up.
They need some characters walking around. I think Tink is the only one on the ground.

My biggest beef are the people dressed in all black holding the diamonds/waves/butterflies in between floats. I think it falls flat and looks cheap.

I saw it in person Saturday night and as it happened I was right up against the rope because I was where they closed off a walkway before it started and moved over when the put the rope up. I do not recommend being this close. My neck was craning the whole time and it was very difficult to get video of the characters because they were so high up.

That’s too bad.

I agree with many of the commenters here. Aside from the characters being too high up, the floats were gorgeous. There was definitely too much space between floats though and lots of dead space. I don’t even recall the music so clearly it wasn’t memorable.

We were right across from the hall of presidents so we would watch for each float make the turn the turn onto liberty square. The float would make the turn, go all the way by us, and the next float would still not quite be at the entrance to liberty square yet or just starting. Maybe the gap is less obvious on Main Street and we were in an awkward spot?

It was great to see them up close but not great for character viewing. Rapunzel might have been the exception because she was lower on that float, in the boat.

To answer your question, I thought it did seem short. Adding more dancers in between would make it less so. Maybe?

Here’s Moana. She is eaten up by her float. Again if you are going for floats and not characters, this is a pretty parade.

It appears they are trying hard to maximize viewing from deep in a crowd. But I definitely see the issue with it.

We watched the 11:00 parade near Sleepy Hollow. I agree with most of the reviews. The float themselves were beautiful, but most were massive. It was hard to see some of the characters, because it was so high up. And the lighting was dark for some places especially for Pinocchio and Geppetto.

There were very few dancers between the floats, which made big dark gaps. The only character I remember walking was Tinkerbell. So it was a bit slow in spots with nothing to see.

The music was similar to the electrical parade, which I didn’t love. But it was okay. I much prefer the ones that you can sing along with.

Overall I enjoyed the parade and I’m glad MK finally has one again. I plan to watch it again this week while I’m here, to see what I missed on the first view. Hopefully it’ll grow on me, the more I watch it!

I hope to see it again on our next trip in January 2027. After watching some of the videos I realize I missed a lot. Did anyone else think it ran fast? I felt Ike I didn’t have enough time to soak in the details on each float. I don’t normally feel that way with Disney parades.

I didn’t necessarily think it ran fast, but I thought the music didn’t always match the floats or characters. The music was very subtle, so I’m not sure. But I didn’t hear the “Beauty and Beast” music until after they passed by. It totally could have been me, but I did think the timing was a bit off.

I guess for me the single character floats were ok but the bigger floats with multiple characters it was hard to take everything in. But again, we were positioned around a bend in the parade route so didn’t get the full benefit of seeing the floats approach. So maybe that’s why it seemed faster. Not sure if that makes sense.
