Starlight soft opening tonight at 9 pm!!!

Wondering about the parade route direction.. I thought the original announcements said the parade would start at main street and end at Frontierland. But, the video I just saw of the soft opening of the parade was just the opposite, i.e. the parade was going towards main street to conclude there. Would love some clarification.
You were watching the night-time parade from last night? It did not end on Main street. It ended in Frontier land.

Maybe you were watching something else?

I really think I need to see in person because online it is not "shining".

For context ~
I did NOT LIKE MS Electrical Parade. The music was fingernails to a chalkboard.
I did LOVE LOVE Spectromagic, always goosebumps and even have the CD in a pile on my desk.

Just in what I see online, the music is so unmemorable (so many videos are adding their own music over it! what?) and seems like they wrote it this week, not sure the parade needs so much commentary it should stand on it's own, several floats appear recycled, I wonder if there are more floats that will be in parade at official opening as it seemed short , the walking performers are so bland and minimal causing the parade to be disjointed. Thrilled with Coco and Encanto (even though I fell asleep during that movie) but questioned Wishes, the design of Pinocchio and thought the Frozen float was just bad. It had no flow. Been what 6 years and this was the grand return?

BUT it was a soft run, maybe not a full casting, maybe the lighting and reflections work better in person.

I’m a big fan of the electric parade. They need more dancers and fillers between floats (can be easily fixed and could still be in the works-fingers crossed). Also, not much in terms of dialogue/singing for some of the main characters like Moana. Wondering if that was just a glitch. The floats were great. Tinker bell walking around seems out of place. The music needs to be more uplifting (electric parade music) vs sounding like a movie ending.

We watched the Moana show on the treasure. We know they can get really creative and keep audiences engaged with other characters dancing in between. Hopefully they take the criticism and improve it. Right now it looks like someone’s budget was cut last minute.

Our 5 year old (who doesn’t remember seeing the electric parade at DL 2 years ago) loves it and is watching on repeat, so for the target audience it still works.

It ran Main Street to Frontierland

I hope we didn’t see the whole thing because it was short! Was Cinderella in it?

Yes (along with Prince Charming)

Funny, my feelings and opinions of MSEP and Spectromagic are the complete opposite to yours, right down to the CD and the fingernails on the chalkboard reference. It just shows what a difficult job Disney has when it comes to pleasing people. I think Starlight will be a solid second place for me but I will wait until I see it in person to make the final choice.

I think that those of us who watched it virtually were at a disadvantage because we were at the mercy of the streamer, their skills, and their equipment. The sound was not coming through well on the stream I was watching. Many times the people watching were much louder than the parade itself. I believe the music and the mix between the background music and the float music will sound better watching it in person. The streamer I was watching had an unobstructed view, but was at an odd angle. They were too far away to get whole floats in without the highlights blowing out, but too close to get much of the float in the picture as it was going past their position. That should also improve with a live performance, when we can choose what we want to look at for ourselves.

I am hoping that there were some floats and performers that were not included last night, for whatever reason. Perhaps some of the floats are more at risk if the weather turns bad (which there was a chance of last night). Perhaps not all of the performers were present when it was decided to do a live run, since it was announced fairly late in the day. A couple more floats and two or three more groups of street performers would be welcome.

SO SO TRUE!!!!! I mean we'll watch it and decide if we love it. If not, fingers crossed for shorter attraction lines during, that was the biggest thing we missed while there was no parade.

Just saw Jojo’s video and the sound and music is so much better. He is also in a better spot where the wait between floats isn’t too long.

Adventureland the music/sound gets absorbed too much and isn’t as effective? Do need to see in person.

I can recall being at Disney several years ago and they had some sort of nighttime lighted parade. No idea if it was called Electric Parade or Spectromagic, but we enjoyed it. Pictures I have seen online of this new version seem similar.

We did a behind the scenes tour many years ago and they talked about how the music for various parades is coordinated with sensors buried in the street along the parade route. Perhaps they are still fine-tuning all of the details of this latest parade.

We have opted to go to MK on a party day in September to avoid crowds and get as much as possible done to free up our MNSSHP night for the party exclusive stuff. I was really bummed about missing this. Now, not so much. I can see it next year.

I thought the floats were beautiful and I liked some of the special effects. I like that they have included some characters we don't see as often. I like that there is ANY night time parade at all. It's been a long time.

I think the music was forgettable. It didn't 'stick' in my head like the SpectroMagic music. It was also very short. I'm hoping that maybe everything wasn't included and more will be added later. They definitely could use more dancers in between floats.

I'm sure it's better in person than it was on youtube lol. But, overall, I'm okay with waiting until next year to see it.

Awe, the pixie dust!!!! So happy for you all who are at MK and get to experience this unexpected magic!

I saw another v-logger’s video just now, and I agree that the parade hit differently. I agree wiyh those who say that it would be good to have more dancers, etc, between floats, but I think this parade is beautiful. I’m excited to see it next month! Do not envy those in the park today, guessing it is nuts, and I hear all reservations for all parks are full? I wonder if they’ll hit PH capacity at MK later?

We are also planning on seeing it for sure regardless of mixed feelings seeing the parade on other people’s videos (we have a non MVMCP day to see fireworks and parade). It looks better from where it starts and Main Street with the interactive lights. The floats are well done. Planning on buying two bubble wands as well (that’s so cool they the lights can interact with other lights - CM turns her light and others on display red). I can see our kids using them like lightsabers.

Boo To You is still our favorite parade, but man we are excited to see this! We will hopefully see Boo on 10/30 at party and then plan to go to MK on the Sunday to pop a squat and wait for parade. 😂

I can't decide if we want to watch from in front of Starbucks on Main Street or go to our tried and true Frontierland spot.

The parade ends in Frontierland. It starts on Main Street. I would try to watch from Main Street (opposite a gift shop would be great for a breeze if it’s hot). It does seem really crowded there though.

If you want the castle in the background then the entrance of Adventureland might be a good spot (that’s where we usually watch fireworks and run over to ride rides right after).

If you’re watching them at the end of the day and planning on exiting then Main Street is probably better.

We were considering doing the MK fireworks dessert pre-party our trip in September. Not sure how we could do that and catch this parade. Watching Ron on the go, looks like there is roughly 35 minutes between the end of parade on Main Street and the beginning of Happily Ever After
