I have gift cards for Starbucks, so I'm wondering about the locations.

I think there is one in Downtown Disney District but isn't there also one right in the park? Or am I confused and there is only one?

One in each park and DTD.

Market House at DLR
Fiddler, Fifer and Practical at DCA
Downtown Disney

if you have the Starbucks app on your mobile device you can upload your GCs to it, then you'll never lose them. If you have an iphone, you can also link them to your Passbook app.

Ooooh I never thought about that. I was given two GCs to Starbucks and I rarely go there. I guess i could use them at Disneyland when I go. Awesome.

That's what I did. I figured it would be really convenient then.

Yeah I'm not much of a coffee drinker but figured I could get snacks there. I wish I would have thought of it last time we went. I get the gift cards free with Bing, so makes for a cheaper trip.

You can also put all of your gift card money (including eGift Cards) onto one gift card as well, if you didn't use the app that gmi3804 suggested. For example, if you had 2 or more gift cards you could transfer the balance over to one card so that you're not carrying and trying to keep up with multiple cards.

With your gift card you can get snacks, seasonal snacks/drinks, sandwiches, breakfast sandwiches, coffee mugs and any other edible or non-edible items that Starbucks normally sells at DLR. If I didn't buy anything edible at Starbucks I would get a mug or a magnet or something like that instead.

I am a big coffee drinker, though I am not a big Starbucks customer at all!:rotfl2: So, over the last year or two, as I have begun to accumulate Starbucks gift cards from various sources, if I have not used the gift cards at my local Starbucks then I have set the gift card aside to use at DLR when I'm there. The last time I used my Starbucks gift card at Disneyland Resort I think I got a slice of lemon loaf and a cookie from the DTD location, and a slice of gingerbread loaf and a peppermint drink from the Market House!

Even though I am not a big Starbucks customer, every so often they do have good deals/treats for their Starbucks Rewards customers that I will take advantage of (free birthday items, or a 2-breakfast-sandwiches-for-the-price-of-one deal [so I got 2 decent sandwiches for a total of $2.95], for example), but I don't think those Rewards deals/offers can be used at any of the Disneyland Resort locations.

However, I think that using a registered gift card at the Disney Starbucks locations will contribute to accumulated points and stars on your Starbucks Rewards account, which can be used for future deals and offers outside of DLR.

Rewards can be redeemed at the DTD location, just not the ones inside the parks, just FYI. You do earn rewards/stars at all locations though

Ooooh! That's good info to know, Cassie! Thanks!

Just so I'm clear on what can be used and where...

  • The DTD location will let you redeem Starbucks Rewards, but will not accept DL Annual Pass discounts, correct?

  • The locations in DCA and DL will not let you redeem Starbucks Rewards, but they will accept Annual Pass discounts? It seems like I recall using an AP discount at the Market House spot, but could not use it in DTD.

  • You can also pay for Starbucks purchases with Disney gift cards at the 2 in-park locations (I did that on one occasion), but can you use a Disney gift card at the DTD location as well??

  • Starbucks gift cards can be used at all 3 of the DLR Starbucks locations, of course, and purchases at any of the 3 locations will count towards rewards/star earnings on your Starbucks Rewards account?

Definitely save money where you can. It's nice having options to get free gift cards and its handy we can use those gift cards in the park.

1, 2, and 4 are correct. Not sure about 3

I receive push notifications from Groupon. I just happened to see a notification pop up a couple days ago for the $5 for $10 Starbucks gift card. I purchased immediately. Within a few minutes I had the e-gift card loaded to my Starbucks app then transferred to my gold card. I looooove when those things pop up but you gotta be fast because they sell out quickly. I've seen them 2 or 3 times now.

The DTD location will not accept Disney GCs.

Think of it this way: In-park locations are more Disney than Starbucks, so they won't take Starbucks promotions (or freebies), but will take Starbucks GCs that were purchased for cash, and issue Starbucks rewards points. The out-of-park locations are like all the other Starbucks across the country. You wouldn't try to pay with a Disney GC in a NYC Starbucks, right?
