Starbucks on Main Street

I was super disappointed when they made the announcement. I happened to LOVE TMSB. I'm over it, but I've never been in that Starbucks. There's one on literally every corner around me now and I don't visit those either. I just don't like their coffee. In fact, this past Fall, I took DD13 to Starbucks because people were raving about their Pumpkin Spice Latte and seeing as how I love everything pumpkin, I wanted to try one. DD got a Peppermint Mocha. We both ended up throwing them right in the garbage. They were disgusting. I should have saved myself the trip and just thrown $10.00 directly into the garbage. Never again.

I was indifferent and I'm still indifferent. We haven't been into the Starbucks at Disney. It's always been too busy every morning we are there. We do prefer Dunkin. However, I will say we go to the Starbucks at City Walk all the time on our Universal trips..mainly out of necessity for coffee and it's never busy when we go

It still looks like Main Street to me - the store front looks great, as does some of the ones in the other parks. I LOVE the You Are Here mugs, but think the coffee is just okay. I much prefer Joffrey's coffee, and used those kiosks much more than the Starbucks places.

I am actually grateful that Starbucks opened over at Hollywood Studios, because it took away those long lines at Starring Rolls! People see Starbucks (Trolley Cafe?) first and go in, not realizing that little beauty of a breakfast place is just across the way!!!

I don't think it has destroyed the character of Main St. but I do think the bakery itself lost much of it's uniqueness and charm. I wish they had just added Starbuck's coffee and kept the rest of it :(

Speaking of Joffrey's, is there a stand at MK?

I haven't been to Disney in a while and didn't know about any of this. I couldn't understand how Disney was "getting away" with offering a Frappuccino on their menus. :)

The Trolley Car Café at HS is a Starbucks, too, but I had no idea since I couldn't find any Starbucks signage online.
There's actually a Starbucks location in all 4 parks.

Im with you....I dont really care for their coffee either. The only thing I drink from starbucks (if im desperate) is their fraps and an Americano. When i say desperate, i mean if there's really no other decent coffee joint around.

I dont mind their presence on main street at all. As someone mentioned, you dont really know its starbucks unless you seek them out. And since coffee at disney sucks, starbucks is a nice welcome...yes, this is desperation speaking! (I dont really care for the joffreys coffee).

I have no issue with a corporate sponsor and don't think it takes away from Main Street but I miss the bakery and hate Starbucks coffee so never go in there any more. They changed the bakery options so there isn't much for me there.

I love Starbucks being on Main Street. Enjoy grabbing a frappe before the parade. I think it is tastefully placed as to where it does not scream Starbucks at you but you know it is there. With that being said I was a little disappointed the first time I went. There is always a long wait and not enough seating. Also with the name "Main Street bakery" I expected there to be more bakery items and treats available inside.

Love it. LOVE IT.

Being able to get my venti Cool Lime Refresher (or Very Berry Hibiscus Refresher, or Strawberry Acai Refresher) first thing in the morning at the parks is a wonderful thing. :) I'm really addicted to the Cool Lime ones, get one at least once a day! I miss that on other vacations where there are no Starbucks.

While I miss the old Bakery items, I much prefer the Starbucks lattes to anything Disney had before. As others have stated, Disney has long been a corporate sponsor entity, and Starbucks is a natural fit. Being able to get to a park and grab a Starbucks is a plus for us. For some reason, we enjoy the one at AK the most.

No problem for me that there is a Starbucks in MK. I welcome the extra jolt of caffeine&familar vibe.

So not at (I should have said IN) MK, just at TTC and lobby at CR. But in all the other parks
Is it because they serve alcohol in some of their drinks?

I'm wondering if it's some kind of corporate compromise with Starbucks. MK is THE Disney FL park, in the average person's eyes, and maybe Starbucks wanted exclusivity. I'm sure Joffrey's would have no problem paring their menu to non-alcoholic to have a stand in MK.

Or, maybe Disney wants too much money from Joffrey's for a location in MK.

Seeing how Starbucks and Joffrey's are both in all the other locations I can't see that is why they aren't in MK but who knows

You'd assume they'd have no problems removing the alcohol but that is a huge money maker. Maybe they aren't willing to compromise on that one offering

Some of the bakery items might be still available elsewhere in the parks. For example, the cinnamon buns that used to be at the Main Street Bakery are sold at Gaston's in Fantasyland.

I mean, so many of the "breakfasts presented by KELLOGG'S" don't even serve cereal!

At least SBUX is serving SBUX.

A few years ago, there was uproar about potentially outsourcing operation of the snack stand at one of our major city parks to (gasp!) Dairy Queen. The city was losing money operating it themselves, and, realistically, losing money running a snack stand at THAT location just suggests that maybe it's not a core strength. (Which is fine. I want my parks board to be more oriented to trees and grass and water quality than to double-scoops.)

People pretty much were having kittens about how "it would change the nature of the universe." Note that they were only going to have small sign, no neon, tasteful. The argument continued that because the new snack stand wouldn't suck there would be more garbage. (Swear to GOD.)

Starbucks has a very good supply chain, existing training resources, etc. etc. I don't think Disney is less "Disney" if they outsource the production of coffee drinks to Starbucks, or Joffreys, or if they somehow were to import a Seattle's Best or a Caribou Coffee. Disney has other areas to focus on. Use partners where they make sense.

I know everything is more magical for me if I am caffeinated.

I didn't really care then and I still don't care. I think it is tastefully done and well themed.

I just wish they would serve Starbucks brand coffee in the resort CL lounges and in the rooms.

I thank the heavens daily that they don't. I hate Starbuck's coffee. A Dunkin fan here. And what is in the rooms is way better than Starbuck's.

See and I bring my own coffee with me because I can't stand what is served in the rooms/lounges-too weak.
