I have never been to a Starbucks in my life...until yesterday. I was shopping with a friend and she said, "Let's grab a coffee". So we headed in and I ordered a tall Peppermint Mocha.

Now, $3.40 x 7 = $23.80 a week to feed my new "Heaven in a Papercup" addiction. :cloud9:

I take my thread title back...I think my friend is evil. This is all her fault.

Oh yeah but I have a solution to your problem. I started working PT in a friends coffee shop ( much better than Starbucks!). All the caffeine buzz I can handle AND I get paid for it! What more could a coffee snob ask for? ;)

It is addictive, isn't it? I buy it by the bag (for under $2 at our local dent and crushed can store) and grind my own. Drinking some House Blend as we speak :cool1:

I also love the Verona blend.

Black, of course :thumbsup2

:teeth: Life is much easier (and cheaper) for those of us who don't like coffee. DD and DH, on the other hand? They constantly are making a run to our local coffee house. They have a coffee allowance.

Sorry you've been sucked in by the dark side, Mal. :rotfl2: Hey, look on the bright side--do they have the peppermint stuff year-round?

Expensive habit, yet soooo yummy! I have to "just say no!" to myself when I have an urge to visit Starbucks.

And now you're evil Maleficent ;) I now have a craving I am going to HAVE to give in to.

:thumbsup2 Another one here who doesn't drink coffee. Now soda...that's a whole other issue.

Lucky me, no Starbucks around here unless you want to drive two hours...

See, but that's the thing...it doesn't taste like coffee. It's like this minty, chocolately, non-coffeey thing...if it tasted like coffee it wouldn't be a problem...

I just emailed my friend that she was evil and she laughed at me...thus proving my point... :stir:

I'm kind of lucky we don't have a Starbucks near me. Only Dunkin' Donuts, but I can resist! :teeth:

Ahhh yes, but then you dont have the Starbucks cup to carry around and look cool doing it! :rotfl:

I don't drink coffee so I don't do Starbucks. :thumbsup2

Oh, Starbucks....how I hate you,yet...I love you! Why have you tempted me with your delicious coffee concoctions? And my children love your hot chocolate and steamers.

On a more depressing note, have you looked at the nutritional info? It's enough to make you want to gouge your eyes out. :rotfl2:

Did she laugh like this, "BWA HA HA HA" and twirl an invisible mustache? If so, she really IS evil. :lmao:

DD is always trying to get me to try her ice cream...ummm...coffee from Starbucks. I limit myself to trying the whipped cream on top. :teeth:

And now Christmas drinks are being offered! :thumbsup2 Coffee really does taste better in a red Christmas Starbucks cup!

Mal, the Peppermint thing isn't year round, so you should be OK after Christmas. However, don't try the white chocolate mocha....or a caramel frappucino...or a caramel macchito or...!!! I was like you, I avoided Starbucks. Then they opened a store down the block from the office, a coworker was making a run one afternoon. I asked him to pick up something "cold & slushy", figuring there wasn't anything like that...I was wrong. He came back with a caramel frappucino, and an addiction was born.

BTW, I am drinking the first Peppermint Mocha of the season right now! :rotfl:

LOL Tink, I just said to DH " well I guess I cant take any of my travel mugs to work now theyre all Starbucks!" :rotfl:

Maybe Ill just use a piece of tape over the Starbucks and write "Brewed Awakenings"

This was her exact response:

"Hahahahahahahaha...addict!" I think that's pretty evil...::yes::

I refuse to look!

yea..tell me about it.

So I started making my own...use hot choco mix, add coffee instead of hot water, and use a peppermint stick or even the round candy, and swirl it in, or get the peppermint flavoring.

Lot cheaper ;) ,

Now if I just could get past the Starbuck's Gingerbeard Latte addiction I have had for years.. :rotfl:
