Star Wars Weekends

Here's a picture from a few years back of a Stormtrooper hamming up with the guests waiting to get into MGM.
He was with another Trooper on the roof of the ticket cue, and they were wondering the "strange devices" that we, the guests, were pointing at them.
He proceeded to mock us in "taking" our photo. Really set the pace for a great weekend. Looking forward to this year's!

You can watch the Stormtroopers here: http://sww.mgmstudios.org/main/index.php?q=node/44

Ok, after watching that video I know that I cannot wait 65 more days to go. I sound like my kids - I wanna go to Disney now!" :)

Any advice anyone on what FP to get when you go in the gate? We usually go straight for Indiana Jones, but I know they have them for the autographs during SWW and other SWW related events. What do you all recommend?

If you're interested in doing SWW events that need to be signed up (Trivia for example), then you'll want to go straight there. You can find this sample schedule of events from 2005 to help you get an idea of when things occur and how often. If you want to ride Tower of Terror or Rock 'n' Roller Coaster, go do those things first as you should be able to do both by about 9:30.

Other than that you don't need to be concerned about being anywhere when the park first opens. Look at the Times Guide, figure out what you want to do and make sure you give yourself plenty of time to get where you need to be.

It will only be DS and I and we can't split up........would you get in line for merchandise first, get FP for autographs first or sign up for trivia contest?

It seems that the merchandise (I only want a pin and a darth mickey) and FP go fast.....but I don't DS to miss out on a chance to try the trivia. Also in what order would you do the 3 above?

since the jedi training is now daily we will do that the day we arrive (Thursday).

Any and all opinions are appreciated.

First you need to decide if you care about merchandise, trivia or celebs. Let's assume you answer "yes" to all. I would sign up for trivia first, then get merchandise and then look at when celeb signings are and be sure to get there with plenty of time.

I just saw that too! Cannot wait to see who the other guests will be. Anyone know typically how soon before the event they usually announce the guests?

Last year the list came out on April 22.

Does anyone know if the Lego Store in DTD sells special Star Wars Lego toys during SWW. My son is dying for Lego characters, especially General Grevious, with light up sabers.

When we were there last June for SW Weekends the Lego Store at DTD as well as Tatooine Traders at MGM both had SW Lego's. Although....I've never seen just the Lego character's sold seperately. I would be THRILLED if I could since that is my Son's favorite part! We have the General Grevious one, but had to buy one of the great big (EXPENSIVE) Lego sets just to get him!

They may sell Star Wars themed merchandise, but it's no different than what they sell at any other time of the year. The special SWW only merchandise is available only at the Studios. I don't think legos are "special merchandise" for the event, so they may very well have it at DTD.

we went to dizney on summer and we went to sww and i love it. all i want to say is y they put sww there and where in the world they started that??????????????????? DH : :mickeyjum DW :chat: DS :coffee:
