Hello! who can tell me more about star wars weekends, my brother is a huge fan of star wars films, he is going on may and I just found out about this weekends at MGM.

Last year was our first SWW & DS8 and DS 11 couldn't have been more excited. We'll be going back again this year for a quick weekend getaway.

We had greta fun - even though it was SO Crowded. My DS 7yo got to be in the Jedi training camp. He was SO excited !!

It was hyped up a lot last year because of the new movie. Dont think it will be as much this year, no new movie, but then again it is usually pretty crowded, as this is the one event that all the big star wars dorks attend (myself included)
And who doesnt want to catch a glimpse of your favorite characters or enter jedi training. If only they get a new movie for star tours.

Is there a list of the special things that go on, like the Jedi training.

I couldn't seem to find it on the site provided. Also do you sign up for those and do allotted spots go quickly?

In my opinion it was too crowded to be any fun at all. We went and needless to say we wont be going during that time again.

I've been to two SWW, 2002 & 2005. 2005 was packed, as we were there a little over a week after Episode 3 premiered.

Here's a list of events from past years. It's a safe bet that the events from 2005 will be back for 2006.

The spots do go quickly so I'd recommend signing them up first thing in the morning.

we went last year by accident. the park was jammed, but they had some neat photo ops and things to see. what I was amazed by is the line to meet darth vader was 4 times longer I'd ever seen to meet mickey.

The merchandise for this event is always great too. I have the watches from the past three years. They are coming out with some neat new things this year too!

We have been twice in 2004 and 2005. The 04 trip was by far the best. The crowds were small and DS's had tons of photo ops. So many characters and so many shows. The merchandise was great. DS 16 loves his SWW shirt.

2005 was an entire different story. There was such a crowd that we did not hang around long. We tried twice to buy t-shirts but you had to wait in line to get in the store. We rode Star Tours once just to get in the store. Then when we finally got in there were no t-shirts near the sizes we wanted.

I think it will be quiter this year, I sure hope so.

Star Wars Weekends are real fun. Lots of photo opprotunites with classic characters from the films. I must for a Star Wars fan. Loved the parade and meet and greets with the various actors. The merchandise is great too!
