Next was the talk show. The waiting area is under roof and has a bunch of TV's that are playing every Star Wars movie trailer ever known to man.
It's creepy to see a trailer for the original Star Wars that was hyped as a love story between Luke and Leia. Brian and I scream what we do every time there is an interaction between the two.
"Ewww, she's your sister!!" We scream.
We get inside the talk show, Stars of the Saga, and sit through the funny stormtrooper schtick. Some pictures.
Part of the stormtrooper pre-show. This is sooooo funny.
A blooper from the movie.
Warrick Davis comes out, and keep things fresh with new jokes.
An Ewok with Mickey ears.
Peter Mayhew taking aim at stormtroopers with a nerf bowcaster. The stormtroopers were lined up like ducks at a shooting range.
Then Rick McCallum came out. New this show, Warrick hands Rick a cigar and some stacks of money (which turned out to be Disney Dollars and Peter Mayhew kept trying to pry into the packs) to see what exactly he does as a producer.
Warrick tells him to hang on, he's going to get him a script. He goes behind the couch and comes out dressed like this.
As George Lucas, he hands him the script.
Later, he does the same Indiana Davis thing, but this time, a stage hand comes out and rolls a boulder after him. Sooooo funny.
Then Warrick mentions that Rick used to be a stuntman, and suggests that he try the boulder skit.
Warrick rolls the boulder and Rick watches as it rolls by him. Laughter from the audience.
Next it is Q and A time.
Rick is asked about Star Wars being released in 3-D in the theaters.
He explains that they are very eager to release all 6 movies in this format, but it is up to theater owners to get the theaters up to standards. He mentions that he as a producer spends so much time and money making the soundtrack perfect and then the movie can be played in a sub-par theater. Without theaters continually updating their systems, the movie industry can not progress. People will just wait for the DVD in their home theater. They want to release the 3-D editions when at least half of the theaters in the country have upgraded to digital screens.
Next he is asked whether or not Boba Fett will be in the upcoming television show, and whether Daniel Logan will be playing him.
Rick smiles and shakes his head. "Wow, that is not a fair question. Well, I'll be bold. The answer is yes." The crowd goes wild. But he continues. "To one of the questions." The crowd groans. But it wasn't hard to figure out which question he had answered.
Next, Rick is asked if Palpatine actually created Anakin.
"I think so. My answer is yes, but George says no. I think it's something that will be explored further in the television show as well."
Next, Warrick Davis announced that this was Rick's first Star Wars Weekends at Disney, and because of this he was officially inducted into the Disney family. But Warrick didn't have the authority to do it.
Out came Jedi Mickey. This is Rick and Mickey bowing to each other.
Mickey handing Rick his own set of Mickey ears.
The crowd went wild. This was the best part of the day.
After the show, we stopped by the bathroom. We hung around for a little, because I was hoping against hope that Rick McCallum would come that way again. But I didn't get that lucky.
We made our way over to the Tune-in Lounge and had a couple beers before Brian's trivia debut.
Brian had to show up at registration 20 minutes before the show started to see if he had a spot on stage.
We wandered over to the sign up booth and I sat in the shade while he checked in. As I was sitting there, I was spotted by my first Diser in the park. Worm761, Angela, walked by and saw my green Mickey head pin.
She walked up and said "Are you a Diser?"
Forgive me, but it took me a second to realize what she had said. Sorry Angela if it looked like I thought you were speaking Gungan.
I realized that she was a fellow Diser and we talked for a bit. Her son sat down next to me to get some shade. He was adorable, and a budding photographer. He even got a picture of me. I hope he captured my essence.
It was time for the trivia challenge. I grabbed the camera from Brian before he went backstage. I waited in the waiting area until the doors opened, and went inside the theater. I sat directly in front of where Brian stood on the stage and tried to take some pictures.
It was at this point the camera died. I swear there is something wrong with it.
Brian was my hero on stage and I was so proud of him. He unfortunately didn't make it into the final few. But I yelled and clapped for every right answer. There is always next weekend.
After the trivia challenge we were done with Star Wars for the day.
Our second day at Star Wars Weekends was better than the first. Each experience has yielded many different picture opportunities and daily events were different each day, which makes for new jokes and good times.
Can't wait for next weeks celebrities!! Hopefully Brian will do better in the trivia. I could use some free Star Wars swag
