Star Wars Weekend Trip Report--updated with new pictures from Sunday May 21st!

Fantastic trip report :)

Going the first week in June, now for sure I cant wait :thumbsup2

from another group of starwars geeks :ewok: :yoda: :darth:

Amy - thanks again! We will have to scope out a spot there for the parade. One last question (hope I am not asking too many questions :) ). Definitely want to go to Star Wars Trivia and plan on signing up first thing. Where was the sign up this year - still between Indy and Star Tours? This is our first time going and I have been reading any thread I can get my hands on about SWW.

Same question - my DD9 wants to sign up for Padawan MInd Challenge. How early can you sign up and where?

sodaseller -- that sounds fantastic...I've never been to a convention or a Celebration, but I'd love to go...I hope he's there one weekend, I'd love to see him!

As for the Trivia Challenges, the table is between Indy and Star Tours. I think you can sign up throughout the day, probably from 9am on, but people were still signing up as late as 2 or 3 o'clock. We didn't see the Padawan show, although I think (I can check the schedule, I just don't have it on me right now) there are two different times for the Padawan trivia, as opposed to one showing for the adult.

and xanthefan, I never tire of talking about Star Wars...if you have any more questions, I'm more than happy to answer them!

My DS & I want to thank you for your fantastic report. We'll be there on the 28th. His 13th birthday!!! :darth: :yoda: :ewok: :chewy:

For those of you who have been this weekend, what would you suggest is the best way to get non-limited mechandise for SWW- t-shirts, Darth Goofy, a couple pins, etc. Will we have to go to Wicket's Warehouse, or are these items available somewhere else? Someone said they waited in line for 4 hours, but that was for the big Jedi Mickey. It sounded like there were separate lines for the limited edition items.

We are planning on going down to see Darth Vader first thing at 9:00 (next Sunday)- should we shop right after? We are not picky about the items, but we want a few little remembrances. Would any of these items be available for purchase at World of Disney at DTD?

Any advice is appreciated. We can't wait! The kids don't know yet :)

THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU for this report!!! Hope you are having the time of your life!! Thank you so much for all this terrific information!!!!

How did the EMH work? Was that today? Amy do you know? Or were you not there for that?

ltuggle -- the non-limited edition merch is available at a small shop in front of the ABC TV Theater, next to where Jedi Mickey is inside Sounds Dangerous.

We were the first to get our picture taken with Darth Vader at 9am. The doors opened a few minutes after 9 and we made it in and out in a few minutes.

There is additional merchandise inside Wickets Warehouse, but the line can be long at times as the cashier is shared with the limited edition stuff.

Darth Goofy and the pins are limited edition and must be purchased through that line, but other reports from today have said that the lines weren't nearly as long as Fridays lines. We are going again tomorrow so I will see how the lines have dwindled.

Thanks everyone for enjoying the report and your kind words!!

Nope, we weren't there for this...I'm hoping someone else will know about this, we're taking my FSIL, June 2nd and I'd like to know how this could benefit us...anyone?

Great trip report, thanks so much! I was able to go last year, but grumpy 4 year old cut the day real short, so I like to live vicariously through the rest of you! Any new characters you noticed?

Enjoyed reading your reports ~ Thanx for sharing.

Lovely piccies.

Just got back from todays Star Wars Weekends and it just keeps getting better. Took tons of pics, I'll try to upload them tonight! My camera battery died again...seems I take too many pictures.

Reggie B -- Last year we missed Aura Sing, so I got tons of pics of her, but she was there last year. Also, there were tons more Ewoks than last year...sat by one in todays WWTBAM. Brian offended him, but more on that in the trip report!

Ghost, I'm honored to be on your blog!! I hope everyone gets a lot of info out of it, I loved taking the pictures and writing the report.

nlugo -- The talk show is every day at 1:30pm. It's WELL worth it. We went today and it was a little different from Fridays. Like I said Warrick Davis manages to keep it fresh and we'll be there next weekend to see the difference with the new celebrities.

Alright, gotta start writing this report...hopefully I'll have it done tonight!!!

:yoda:
I can't wait until we get there! We won't be there until the end of next week. We are considering saving our last ticket day so we can go back to the next weekend. Thanks for sharing. I must say I am excited about the 3/4 scale x-wing. I have a picture of Darth Maul glaring at my son. It was great. He stood up to him. :3dglasses

Hiya!
We were at WWTBAM when you were there---in fact, my dh pointed out the DIS lime green mickeyhead on your shirt when we first sat down! We were sitting up high, and by the time that Nathan had won the grand prize I had forgotten to try and look up a fellow DISer after the show. Thanks for posting, I enjoyed reliving the memories of a great day!!!

PS. Kind of missed "phone a storm trooper" as a WWTBAM option, but totally enjoyed Warwick (or is that Warren???) :sunny:

Yay, someone noticed the Mickey head I worked so hard on!! I actually had another Diser notice me today, but more on that in the trip report. Sorry we didn't get to talk, but it's nice to know someone else got to see the million point game.

Yes, Warren Davis :rotfl: is my new hero. He's so witty. Today during the WWTBAM they gave him a newspaper because he said he was bored.

For those that are wondering, during the first contestant on WWTBAM, the host asked the contestant who she came to see at Star Wars Weekends. She responded, "Warren Davis." The crowd broke up in laughter. The host reponded, "Isn't that your nickname Warrick?"

Good stuff.

As for the recap of todays SWW experience, it's looking like tomorrow night...I had to finish another report from last week....and that took FOREVER!

Belle Amy - do you have the events schedule and can you possibly scan and post it? I'd love to see the 'timing' of what's happening this year and figure out how we're going to fit it all into one day - last year we did SWW all 3 days in a row - I'm already thinking that a 2nd morning will be a must - DNeph (8) has his heart set on winning the trivia challenge this year - and seeing WWTBAM again - and seeing the talk show because our weekend has his two favs (the Fett family) - and of course the parade !!! - these 'long-weekend' trips are waaaay too short :sad2: - but I'll take what I can get ! :smooth:
