Star Wars Weekend Tips 2012

We went to shopping at the tent and to see Hyperspace Hoopla. What an awesome evening. Shopping was great! You can even get refreshments inside, and if there is a line outside the store, there were cm selling refreshments outside too. We only saw Luke Skywalker as the character there during our time in the tent. He gave alot of individual attention to each person who visited him.

We watched the Hoopla from Idol and it was a great experience! I didn't realize my oldest had never seen the show before. He loved it!! He wants to see it again next weekend!

Are the R2D2's with the slushies smaller than the dessert R2D2's from last year?

The last several years they have not. I don't mean caps with just "Star Wars" on them.

I saw a few pages back someone mentioned breakfast carts. Are these carts for the people waiting on line to get in or are they in the parks? Is it possible to get there around 7:15am and get something while waiting on line?

When we were there on Saturday I didn't see the food cart outside, they do have one right after the entrance, in past years they let us go in and buy from that one...not sure if it's the case this year. Sorry

I saw that the dessert cup is smaller than the bucket where you can get the kids power pack and the popcorn. I haven't seen the slushies ones

Since I cannot go until Weekend 4 since I am not local and have to wait until school lets out up here, I take great trouble not to read about the Hoopla, watch clips etc. I want to be just a surprised as those who are able to see it the very first night.

Anyway, just wanted to clarify!

I just watched Hoopla on my iPad It is very good and recommend it if you still have energy.

Something I did notice about the Fab 4 meet is that in the past when characters come to swap they would stay for a couple of pictures and then the one being swaped left...this year I was watching Princess Minnie meet and greet and out came Donald, he actually waited next to the photopass guy while Minnie finished with the last family and then Minnie left and Donald took her place...just aheads up.

There is no Mace Windu meet and greet character this year. It's just Anakin, Shaak Ti and Kit Fisto for the Jedi Council.

Woo! That's me at 11:04 in full costume, left of the shirt rack. Got awesome pictures with Darth Maul and Darth Vadar that day. Can you believe they sold out of the Get a piece of the Death Star pins shortly after 8am that day?

Actually found it odd there were no purple lightsabers (Mace Windu) to be found either. My DS3's favorite color was purple and everywhere we stopped he asked if there was a purple lightsaber.

It was a dark day back in the 1970's when that album came out. It was Meeco's Star Wars Disco album. SOme of us still have that on vinyl. Mostly to prevent it from falling into the wrong hands. It wasn't even a more elegant album for a more civilized age.

We are very excited to attend our very first (and long over due) Star Wars Weekend. We will be attending weekend #4. Thanks to everyone who has posted tips, itineraries, photos, videos, etc... They have all been awesome and is really getting us excited about our upcoming trip.

I think many of my questions have been covered but I'm still not clear where I can get a picture with Mickey in his Star Wars costume. I also only have one day to catch the parade, at what time do we need to start picking out our spot?

No, unfortunately that does not sound like it. The music was playing maybe a half-hour before the show took place, it had a more modern techno/trance feel to it.

Jedi Mickey is one of the fab 4 that come out between the exit to Great Movie Ride and ABC Commisary, there are four characters that rotate, Princess Minnie, Stormtrooper Donald, Darth Goofy and Jedi Mickey...it depends if you don't mind sitting in the sun then maybe 30 to 40 min. before, if you want a shadier spot (left side of Hollywood Blvd if you're fascing the Hat) then 1 hour to 1:30 before.

R2MK did not make an apearance this past weekend, I was asking the CM in charge of the Fab 4 line, he took out the secret characters times that we, mere mortals, are not supposed to see, I looked over his shoulders and he was not there...hopefully it's a technical difficulties thing and he'll be out next weekend. It's weird Mace Windu is not around, I see the CM that played him for the last couple of years walking around all the time.
