Star Wars Weekend & GAD Fastpass - WWYD??

Here's the issue:

My family has four vouchers for volunteering. We have two trips coming up this year. 1) My son and I are going next week and will be there for the Star Wars Weekend - it's a short trip Thurs-Tues. 2)We are planning a BIG family trip in October.

So the dilemna! My son will be using his voucher for the pin set. That leaves us with 3 - Do I use mine on our upcoming trip - and which day...we will be at DHS Fri and Sat. OR do I hold on to mine and use it with the two others in the fall...there will be 6 of us and we'll be doing parks everyday of the week.

Last minute trip jitters...one more decision to help me finish my check list!

Almost in the same boat with a Star Wars Weekend Trip then another trip in September. I've decided to use our GADs to upgrade to AP's. It looks you'll have more days in your trip than we so have you thought about doing that with yours?

Even with just one AP you'd be able to get room discounts or get a TIW card for dining and other perks.

If you use it as a park ticket it wouldn't matter whether you used it this trip or the other, the cost savings would be the same.

Oh, wait a minute, you're actually going to use as fastpasses. Weelll, I don't think Star Wars is going to affect the rides except for Star Tours, so if there was a Fantasmic on one of those days, I'd use it on that day.

But since you have more people on your trip in October I'd use the fastpasses then since you can use up to 6 people per voucher(I'd read some people managing to squeeze more per voucher though).

Finally, if you're going to choose a fastpass on which DHS day, definitely use one if it's a Fantasmic day or EMH day.

I think the GAD fastpass may really help you IF you plan on doing TSMania, RnR or ToT in addition to SWW.

Now if what you really plan is to do SWW stuff: Jedi Training, parade, hoopla, events, character greets and are okay with maybe missing or having a long line for the big-3 attractions ---- then save that GAD for your trip this fall.

If a trip to HS would not be complete without the big 3 then by all means, use your FP. It will be crowded and literally save you hours of waiting!

BTW: Star Tours is a Daisy Ride for your GAD so it's helpful for that ride as well!

Thanks for your thoughts..yes, we have APs so we are able to use these for FPs only.
I'm just feeling anxious about the crazy crowds for SWW. I'm thinking that we'll do the Star Wars stuff on Friday and go back on Saturday to do any Star Wars stuff that we missed and get FPs to do the rides we want...Something tells me this will not be a relaxing holiday!
