Star Wars Universe Dream Park or Star Wars Land

Sure, a whole Star Wars park would be amazing, but I'm trying to think logically here. What is most likely to happen and won't take 10 years to build? It's a land at DHS. Plus, I still would like to see Disney upgrade Future World at EPCOT (and eventually Tomorrowland at the Magic Kingdom), so I'd rather they don't spend $3 billion on a Star Wars park.

How about "Falcon Escape?" A combination of Tilt-a-Whirl and Buzz Lightyear. And put the Jedi Training Academy in the Jedi Temple.

I don't want Star Wars to replace Tomorrowland, and I don't think it'd be a good idea to place Star Wars in AK or Epcot. I mean, I'd really appreciate a Star Wars land at DHS because it actually makes sense, but I don't want Disney to shove it down our throats by placing a product that not everybody likes in all their parks.

It makes sense to place Star Wars land in DL's Tomorrowland due to the lack of space (unless the third park becomes a reality, of course). But I personally want WDW's Tomorrowland to survive and evolve, and not necessarily into a one-franchise area.

As much as I think Disney World could use a 5th park, I don't think I'd want to center it on one specific franchise like that. Maybe I'm just not a Star Wars person - give me Star Trek any day.

But I would be totally down for seeing a new land come to the Studios. The place could use some love.

Tomorrowland in WDW is already riddled with franchises that stretch the term "tomorrow" as it is. You have Stitch, OK he is an alien from space - kind of stretching it thin but ok. Buzz Lightyear, set in space - not really "tomorrow" but fits into "space" category. Monsters Inc Laugh Floor - how does this even fit into the theme? I love all of these rides but how can you really evolve this as it stands? Star Wars is about as space age / tomorrow as you can get.

I voted for a 5th gate because that is what I would want. We love Star Wars. But I think Disney will move towards a Star Wars Land.

All credit to the maker of the map, that is pretty cool and very detailed. There is no doubt that I would personally love a theme park like that one (though maybe it's too thrill ride heavy for a Disney park - can't there be an awesome Star Wars dark ride?). Still, I voted for SW Land at DHS because it's just more practical. At this point, I don't think WDW needs a fifth gate, nor do I think Star Wars, as great as it is, can sustain a park alone.

If they did a fifth gate, they could maybe combine certain movie properties, like a park with Star Wars, Marvel, Alice in Wonderland (Burton), Tron, etc. That could maybe work, though I really think that expansions to WDW should be in the "and More" vein as things like DisneyQuest fall now. I think a gigantic Frozen-themed ice skating rink with great theming and treated as a waterpark type admission would be sppectacular and something I would visit for sure.

The only way a fifth gate makes sense would be to split it between Star Wars, Marvel, and Pixar. Since that can't happen at WDW, then it only makes sense as a third gate in California.

Just the idea of riding something like that through an Endor setting is truly exciting.

I think it's kind of funny that some people think Disney shouldn't build a park around Star Wars because its popularity may wane over time. That's an extremely unlikely scenario. Star Wars is almost 40 years old now, and it's more popular than ever. It's not just the live-action movies - new Star Wars books, video games, and animated series are out almost constantly. It has an ENORMOUS existing fanbase, and it keeps growing with each generation. Anything Disney does with Star Wars will be popular for a long time to come.

Sure, the original concept of Tomorrowland is pretty much nowhere to be seen. Still, if you don't like a certain IP you still have other franchises available to see at Tomorrowland. MK works that way: You have a very wide range of IPs to choose from within each land, if your visit is IP driven.

A Star Wars ride at TL? Sure, that'd definitely work. Turn TL into SWL? I don't think so, with Disneyland being the exception. WDW has enough space to keep Tomorrowland and develop a proper Star Wars land at DHS.

Since a fully Star Wars-themed park wouldn't float, how about a resort? Those are definitely themed. Something in the vein of Art of Animation? All Lucasfilm. A few different Star Wars themed buildings and an Indiana Jones one.

After attending once, how many folks would be drawn to going time and time again?

This was my first thought also, part of the draw of the Disney parks is the variety and as much as I love Star Wars I don't think it would draw repeat visits like the other parks do.

This was my second thought, building a 5th gate does nothing to help HS or Epcot and I'd rather see them get improvements than see a whole new park.

This would be amazing but I wonder if there is a need right now for a whole new resort. I've seen posts about 70-80% occupancy rates so as cool as a Star Wars resort would be it might just end up poaching guests from existing resorts rather than attracting new guests.

I love Cars land and think if they did a Star Wars land on the same or slightly larger scale it would elevate HS to the same quality level as DCA, which IMHO is the 3rd best park in the US after DL and MK. With ToT, RnRC, TSMM, F!, and Star Wars land it would probably be a 2 day park for a lot of people.

For those that worry about not getting to see everything now in 10 days, that is what Disney wants. It only encourages you to return another time. Even if you see it once, to say you would never go back to a Star Wars land again is probably not true either. How many times have you been to Space Mountain or any other ride? If they build a great ride and environment, people will return.
