Star Wars Themed Resort at DHS

In my opinion, this is near enough certain. Disney wouldn't go through all the hassle of coming up with details and concept art if it wasn't near-certain.

I cruise every year and have never cruised Disney because I can get a better Disney experience at WDW for far less money. I only point this out because this WOULD get me to pay the premium. Yes, Disney cruises sell out as is.

Frankly, I am only interested in changes that I will enjoy. I am glad that others get what they want, but changes like the 7DMT and FEA are lost on me. I wouldn't pay a nickel to ride either, but they are clearly popular.

While I have never cruised Disney either or at all for that matter I think many would argue that Disney cruises offer a great Disney and cruise experience for the money. It's rare that I see negative Disney cruise reviews.

Meh, not true. They come up with ideas all the time and in order to promote their idea they need to create visuals. Just because they have concept art doesn't mean we ever see it get off the ground.

True, however Disney doesn't put concept art in surveys for new things too often. So this is a bit farther along than just getting an idea of interest.

My SiL worked for Disney Cruises for years. I get it. But I can cruise for less than half the price on other cruise lines with ratings and reviews just as high as Disney's.

Would this be the first time Disney has used a 3rd party survey company? Right now this sounds more like a company that might want to approach Disney with the idea and show the demand then Disney actually feeling it out. I mean anyone can draw up some concept art and slap it into a survey.

I'm not denying the fact there might be a Star Wars boutique hotel but seriously they've never done something that would force people to pretty much be at the hotel for 2 out of the 3 days of their vacation. On top of that it sounds like a ton of staff just for that cost to make sure it is "interactive" enough. I'll believe the immersive concept when I see it. The only way I see it happening is if they are building this inside Star Wars land but then only having 1 park day would be interesting if that is the case. We will see though maybe I'll have to eat my words but this just doesn't seem like an idea they can deliver on.

I'm not the biggest Star Wars fan, so I can't say that staying here would ever be a must do for me. But I'm certainly not against it.

Is there any speculation as to where it would go? I imagine somewhere in that WWS/HS area?

The idea is something I have thought of and think would be a good thing for them to do. The resort experience they are pushing here I think would be a package or upgrade to your room but for it to work long term I think you would have to include guess that wanted to stay at the resort without this high end experience as well. I know a company now that does (or did) a star wars thing as a add on to your vacation but i felt the price for what you got wasn't good for me to even try. Something like this, and with the SW Land opening, I feel would sell out and be a very hard ticket (or room) to get for about a year. I put myself at 90% of being one of the ones that would be doing everything I can to get in on this. Only think that would keep me from doing it, price comes up out of my budget, with that said, I am already saving for my 2019 SW Land opening trip.

Although pricey, I'd be interested...I've priced out Comicons and on average, they can easily cost $500-600 per person for a weekend, without food. And that's staying at a run of the mill moderate hotel. So this actually doesn't seem way overly expensive to me. And if they do this, it's the people who go to Comicons (and spend $500-600/person) that will be the target audience.

It is pricey, but if it is as immersive as they claim it to be, I would be game. It would be 2 days of complete immersion with stepping out onto a Star Wars world. Sounds like it would have the sights, sounds, smells, and feel of being on a starship. Ok, I am speculating on some of that, but I wonder if there would be a constant humming and vibration. That could be cool! Many mention that this wouldn't appeal to the average park goer, but all you have to do is look at the turnout of Star Wars movies, Comic Cons with Star Wars guests, and the recent Celebration to know that Disney would make a lot of money off something like this. Sadly, if the survey is targeted well enough, I could see a price increase before it was done. I mean, walking from your room to get ice and possibly passing by droids in the hallway? Yeah....where do I sign up?

Personally love the cruise. Just throwing that out there. And this sounds intriguing but way too expensive

See, while the number seems pricey, I doubt it's high enough for Disney to make it work. Deluxe resorts easily surpass $500 per night, so add every meal, interactive story elements and park admission, the $1,000 seems rather low per person.
