STAR WARS TEASER............I am really starting to beleive them! Disney maybe back on line

can I start the pool for how long it'll take until your not getting soaked at 10 years (assuming it's not a rapid boat ride and your suppose to get wet)..

When first announced they talked about piloting the Falcon and a battle between the first order and rebels. There was one piece of concept art showing a group of Stormtroopers running through a market place. I felt like they were going to have a spiderman like attraction for the battle. I also feel like his talk of unprecedented refers to piloting the falcon. Since controlling your ride experience is kinda new. As for the rumor of a boat ride, I hope not. That is not the best use of space. The concept art didn't show much water visible outside of a pond; so it would be interesting to see how it will fit into the design if true.

All I can think of as I read the headline for this thread is "I before e, except after c". Sorry.

Or sounding as A as in neighbor or weigh, or on weekends and holidays or all throughout May and you'll always be wrong no matter what you say!!

Bonus points if someone knows the source. :D

It may be misread on the Boat ride for Avatar. A trackless ride makes more sense for star Wars. I would really want a Gringotts type ride (part Roller Coaster/Part Dark Ride). My biggest dream as a Nerd is to fly in the cockpit of a X-Wing or Tie Fighter. How you do it without making it a very low capacity ride I'm not sure.

Yohoyoho a smugglers life for me! Maybe that's what is taking the new Pirates of the Caribbean so long was its a cross over with Star Wars.

Luke isn't alone on the island! Capn Jack is with him! Star Wars and Pirates are just two versions of the same story. Two versions of the same ride. Rey IS Capn Jacks daughter!

It all makes sense now!!!

That still sounds like everyone quoting everyone else.

"leading some to believe that the boat ride could be part of the upcoming Star Wars themed lands at Disney’s Hollywood Studios and Disneyland Park."

No-one knows, and since Disney do have access to the ILM guys, why not use them for Avatar? Disney are surely capable of jamming a boring "here's that movie you liked condensed into a three minute collection of vignettes" into a stupidly expensive amount of rock work, but until anything like an actual plan is leaked, we have no reason to assume that's what they're going to do for a park that they must realize has to appeal hard to the teen-thru-thirty crowd, since that's where their others are weakest.

ILM is being used to pirates in Shanghai and is supposed to also be used for the avatar boat ride which would lead me to believe that is what they are talking about and not Star Wars.

It remains to be seen if this all some big mix up. We hope.

It just makes us Star Wars suckers nervous to even hear something this bizarre. Nobody is in the mood to be messed with.

It doesn't sound right.

Because it "sounds" like watching Star Wars clips on small world. And that would cause a very visceral response.

Let's hope that wdi and the suits aren't that stupid...that "Star Wars" and "boat ride" never were contained in the same sentence...that they don't "not get it" to this astronomical degree.

Hope

Lame...in a word.

Something in this "new studios" park is gonna have to be more than a "history of" slow ride for grandma...

That's just the exact same report everyone else is making. And it all hinges on the fact ILM was mentioned. ILM doesn't just do Star Wars.

I have a feeling that the SW land rides are bound to disappoint the purely ride enthusiasts. The main targets will be, quick little bursts of exposure to the new characters and the old spaceships mostly designed around the needs of FP+.

With a lot of open space for the crowds, FP+ ready M&G areas and "they'll eat anything labelled Star Wars" food and snack options.

Personally I would prefer something more like Diagon Alley plus a newer and better version of Space Mountain or a significantly longer version of 7DMT with elaborate story telling but that's probably not in the cards.

Pretty sure we're not going to see a coaster (be it 7DMT or Space Mountain) and while there are many things DHS lacks I don't think coasters is really one of them (particularly with the Toy Story coaster going in). I would really hope that the whole area is themed like Diagon Alley, but we shall see.

If they think they can do simulators over and over again...designed around the needs of their wristband prediction/employee rationing system...then the best days of the parks are behind us.

I don't need cedar point...but some things will need to have some physics to them.

And before anyone says "the lines will be too long..." Then the world's biggest, richest themepark operator would have to put in "more stuff"...like ahead of the growth curve as it once did. The shoeless Joe Jackson "if you build it...he will come" approach.

As it should be.

The Pirates one wasn't immediately as apparent, but I like that too. They have that big opening scene with storms and that would work very well.

ILM worked on both the Pirates movies and Avatar. They're more than capable of working either of these projects.
