I was in Hollywood Studios tonight to catch the opening of the Star Wars Spectacular and I was simply blown away. The amout of effects, visuals and fireworks put into the show is amazing!! People were camping out at least 90 minues ahead of the show. It is well worth the wait!!

I noticed!! There's already a handful of youtube videos of it and it does look AMAZING!!!!! Can't wait for our trip in October as I have a star wars fans over here and they have no idea about this show. Wow, what a great day for Disney--- Soarin, Star Wars and Finding Dory.

We're going in August and are expecting to be blown away by that show! We loved the Frozen fireworks, the last two summers. We're hoping these are even better! Our 8yr old is a huge Star Wars fan, he is really excited to see all the new things over at HS.

Just looked at the youtube video. I hope they do it for our September trip. Looked awesome. Despite all complaints, Disney does some cool stuff.

I just watched a video, and can't wait to see it in person on July 5!

Glad to see that Disney is putting on good show at DHS as it needs some love these days with all of the areas closed for construction.

The Show started at 9:45 right on the dot. It lasted I think around 20 minutes. It was a huge crowd and it does not leave you much time to head to Fantasmic if you are at the front of the show. Alot of people started camping out on blankets around 8:15 or simply sat on on the concrete. Little kids are going to have a hard time seeing around taller people because everybody stands for this show. There is not sitting on the curbs like MSEP.

Do you have to "camp out" for ages before the show? It's not usually like that with firework shows.

We are super excited to see the show next Tuesday! DH is a big Star Wars fan, so I bought tickets to the desert party. Hopefully between the deserts and the reserved space it will be a fun night.

Why would you need to "camp out" 90 minutes early to watch fireworks that are in the sky? Is there some element that's only viewable on the ground from certain spots?

We had planned to watch from BC beach but since that may not be possible, any viewing spots outside that would give a good view?

Hmm, where would be a good spot to watch with a 2 year old then? Mind you, my DH and I are short too! Lol!

We missed it by 1 day. Time to plan our next trip and will just have to live through You Tube until then.

We have same question. Was planning to watch ftom the BC beach, but who knows. What other spot outside HS would you suggest? :confused3Going in October, I thought I read that most thought that the fireworks would continue into October. HOPE SO!:cheer2:

I just watched the video of the new Star Wars fireworks, even though I will see it in person next week. Seems to be a very good show. I'm sure Star Wars fans will be very pleased. However, I'm more a fireworks fan than a Star Wars fan. The show relies heavily on projections and I think there were fewer aerial fireworks compared to the previous SW fireworks show. I suspect the show well not be as impressive from Pop Century as what what I saw in April. I'll find out in a few days.

Ah! Where do they do the projections? If that's the case, we may want to be in the park after all.

We attended the previous version back in May while doing the dessert party. We thought that one was good. Wow. The new one is amazing. I'm curious, though. We couldn't really see the Chinese theater from our table at the dessert party (we got there late--about 15mins prior to the fireworks beginning so our table choices were limited) but they weren't doing projections like that so it didn't really matter. I wonder if people are still tucked off to the side at the dessert party? This show seems to be VERY heavy on projections to make the show.

We were there 90 minutes early. Watched the show. Honestly was a bit underwhelmed.

Cool tech but a pretty disjointed story. Firework placement was way to the right of the theater.

Not a bad show... But we all agreed it was not worth the 90 minute wait next time nor the $350 a desert party would run us. For what it's worth I'm a huge SW fan and 2 of 3 kids are as well.

YMMV

In Aug the park closes at 8pm. Does that mean there won't be fireworks? I'm sad because that is when we are going.
