Star Wars Merchandise - What A Mess!

I was thinking about going to MGM this afternoon/evening looking for a Ron Stoppable doll for my nephew, and if I so happen to pass the SW store, would anyone want me to pick up a Mickey Darth Vader for them? I am personally not interested, but if the line isn't too long, I would be happy to pick up 2 for some disboards people and ship them to you! I would ask to be reimbursed for the costs, of course!

Let me know! I will be home for a little bit,and will check here before I leave.

1st 2 people that post, get them, IF I can get them!

Oh, no! It sounds like Star Wars Celebration III all over again! For those of you in the dark, C3 was the 4-day convention held in April in Indianapolis. Waits for the Celebration Store (packed with exclusive merchandise) sometimes got up to seven hours. Just to buy STUFF!

Well, I'll be there on Sunday. Hopefully the rush will have passed, and I'll be able to get a Darth Mickey. Last year, we visited Star Wars Weekends on the next-to-last weekend, and Jedi Mickey was already sold out. :confused3

I doubt the lines will not be long, but I would LOVE one if you can buy them!

Oh I would love one! If you wouldn't mind! I will send you money for the shipping also. Just let me know. Thanks! My hubby is a huge fan and we made our reservations so we could be in Disney for the big event. We booked in Dec and then found out they were delaying the weekends to coincide with the opening of the movie. Oh well, there was nothing we could do to change it either. Bummer. Just post if you get one with the amount to send you! Thanks again!

Of course the Darth Mickey's are already showing up on ebay. Someone has listed one with THEIR starting price of $28.99! Another one is at a starting price of $0.99 - the price on that one should fly since the start price is so low.

If I recall from the last two years I've gone, the Star Wars Weekends merchandise is only available for sale during the Fri-Sun time period. We've never had any horrid lines like the OP describes, so hopefully that's just a first weekend thing (we always go Memorial Day weekend and the weekend after Memorial Day).

I can't imagine standing in line that long to pay money for something...even something as cool as a Darth Mickey. It would be a nice contrast to my Jedi Mickey that I got last year, though :)

We were there last week and there were tons of Jedi Mickeys at Tatooine Traders and at Once Upon a Toy. They were exactly the same as the ones from SWW last year except they didn't have the SWW logo on the foot.

My sister called me from MGM today, they were having a blast. She said she picked me up a Opening day pin and got the kids 2 Jedi Mickeys. We definitely plan on going next year cause by then we'll be living in Ocala!

Oh man!!! We skipped going into the toy store this trip, now I wish we'd have gone in! This Darth Mickey sounds cute. Drat!

DD and I went back over to MGM about 4pm. The wait to get into Tantooine Traders was still 2 hours. They were sold out of Darth Mickey. We went to dinner and went back over to the store about 6:30pm. The wait was only an hour, so we waited. Once inside, I waited in another line for 45 minutes to pay for some merchandise.

On the positive side, they did open up a couple of spots to sell T-shirts, some toys and mugs outside of Tantooine Traders. There were still lines, but not like at the store.

I did ask a couple of CMs if they would have more Darth Mickeys. They both said it was possible, but to be at the store when it opened or I would get one. They have a very limited number. The are limiting the number anyone can buy to two.

Feralpeg is right! They were all sold out by the time I got over to MGM, fed my DD there, and waited in line for only 25 minutes. But it was late 7:45pm.

I am sorry ahhhhhhhhhhhh! and lllovell! You were #1 and #2 to post so they would have been yours! And chrissyc if I could have snagged a third it would have been yours!

My DH thinks I am nuts for being on the disboards as much as I am, and thinks I am totally bonkers for going over to MGM tonight to buy mickey dolls for you all! Oh well! Gave me something to do with my DD!

Well, I am not a morning person like Feralpeg. Me and my DD have a lovely stomach virus at the moment which our pediatrican thinks we caught at her office on Tuesday (just lovely, no?), but if we are up in the morning and I can get her fed and out the door sometime around 10am or 11am and it's not raining (it's forecasted for a little rain tomorrow, but who knows) Paige and I will head out to MGM and see if we can snag some Darth Vader Mickey's for you all!

Is anyone interested in the Jedi Mickey's because they had those.

Someone asked about the cost and I think they are around $9 or so.

Now I am on a mission to get these silly things!

Sorry I wasn't successful tonight my friends! Have a good one! Will update tomorrow!

Hi All,
Well call me crazy :rolleyes1 but I just bought a Darth Mickey on Ebay. Got it for $29.99 :earseek: but I did not want to take a chance and not be able to get one. One guy on Ebay has 2 of them listed with a buy it now of $119.00 :earseek: :earseek: :scared1: I'm not that crazy!!

Now I hope he delivers and I have no problem with this transaction.

Hi Peggy,
Are the black t-shirts with the graphic on the back hard to find? My guess is we should be able to get them next Friday. Travis saw one on Ebay and said it was "COOL" Told him I would think about it :rolleyes1 :rolleyes1 He still does not know we will be there next week.

I saw one guy today. He was in line in front of me. Apparently, he'd gotten there as soon as the store opened. He had a bag and had two Darth Mickeys that he'd bought. He'd immediately gotten back in line to go through again to buy another two. He planned on doing it as long as he could.

I'm sure some of his are now on Ebay. Well, more power to him. The second go around, he would have had to stand in line for over four hours. It was hot out there today! I couldn't do it.

I just wished Disney would have made a large number of them so that everyone visiting there during Star Wars weekends that wanted them could get them. Making a limited number encourages people to buy them and sell them for outrageous amounts on Ebay.

Although I'd love to have one, the ones I felt sorry for were the little boys that wanted one. I heard several of them ask their parents why they couldn't have one. I wish I could have gotten my hands on 1000 of them. There would have been a lot of happy little kids leaving MGM today!

Cheryl, you shouldn't have any trouble getting the T-shirts. They had a lot of them and they were available outside the store.

Hi,
Did you happen to notice the price?

The one I bought on Ebay will be for Travis. Maybe it will be waiting for him when we come home from our trip...

Yup, me too. I figured the original price was probably over $20, so it's not a bad deal. I didn't stand in line, I didn't have to fight the crowds, and I bet (as long as they don't make more) they'll be a good collectable. As far as the transaction goes, if you used PayPal you're covered--at least for the money.

I think last year they saved some the of the Jedi Mickey's and put them out each weekend, but I could be wrong. I'm glad they at least made him again. I'll pick up him this year.
